Product Overview

The Porter-Cable PIN138 pin nailer uses 23 Gal. headless and slight head pin nails from 5/8 in. to 1-3/8 in. length. It has a long life, maintenance free motor to keep from staining the work surface. It has consistent power and penetration to sink 1-3/8 in. nail sub-flush into Oak. It has a rear exhaust to keep contaminates away from work surfaces. It also incorporates a dry-fire lock-out that alerts user to re-load nails and eliminates empty nail holes. It has a narrow nose design with a removable non-marring nose tip with on tool storage space. The tool automatically adjusts for different fastener lengths for easier loading and less problems with pins out of spec. It has a convenient side-load magazine that holds 130 micro pin nails and a reversible belt clip to keep tool close to user. It also has an integrated rubber grip for improved comfort. Includes: nailer, 2000 pin nails of 3/4 in., 1/4 in. plug with cap, wrench and carrying case.

No it is not! Most laminate flooring is free floating and does not required to be fastened down. If the flooring does you should use a stapler for flooring

If the brad nailer jams how do you unjam it without a release for it.

Clearing a Jammed Nail: Disconnect the tool from the air supply and remove fasteners from magazine before making adjustments or personal injury may result. If a nail becomes jammed in the nose piece, keep the tool pointed away from you and follow these instructions to clear: 1. Disconnect the tool from the air supply. 2. Release magazine release from behind nails. 3. Push down jam clearing latch then pull up to open front door. 4. Remove bent nail, using pliers if necessary. 5. If driver blade is in the down position, insert screwdriver or other rod into nose piece and push driver blade back in position. 6. Remove rod and close front door. 7. Lift latch to secure door to nose piece. 8. Reinsert nails into magazine. 9. Release magazine release. 10. Reattach air supply.

Only by adjusting the pressure. Not sure why you would want the pins to stick out but you could pin through card/foamboard and then just pull that off.

I have shot about 100 nails thru this so far and 4 out of 5 of them fail to sink leaving the nail sticking out of the material. I have adjusted compressor pressure, angle of approach, tip/no tip. It does not matter. I bought this to install the trim molding on my kitchen remodel and am just hacking up my finished molding. I so want it to work since I love the small hole (when it works) but it is just making too much damage to repair the misfired nail. Was a huge Porter Cable fan (2 compressors, 4 other nail guns, sander, circular saw, etc.) but now not sure?

This Porter-Cable Pin Nailer was for my husband to use in a project to update our kitchen cabinets. It was perfect for him to add trim pieces to cover up flaws, particularly on the bottom edges of the cabinets. It worked fine with his air compressor. The little pins hold the trim perfectly and look great, and the project went so much faster and prettier than if he had tried using finishing nails. He is very pleased with this tool, and using it to update our cabinets has saved us a lot of money and time. Well worth the cost.
