Questions & Answers

Can the black part stay attached to the outdoor faucet in the winter?
ByOct 24, 2025

Answer This Question

Hello, Vicl - We recommend removing the pressure washer from the hose and ensuring that it is stored inside. The water inlet part that connects to the garden hose is not supposed to come off the unit, so you would have the whole pressure washer connected. Also, make sure to use pump protector on your unit to protect the pump in cold weather. If you need further support, then feel free to ask another question. You can also contact us by phone or text at 1.800.525.2579, Monday - Friday from 9 am to 5 pm (EST), or via email when you visit us at https://www.ryobitools.com/support/contact. I have several of these quick fits for my nozzles and hoses, but I have many more nozzles than hoses so I need to buy just the male end of this fitting, and I can not find them. Home Depot use to sell them but no longer.

It's not that difficult. You put a male end on the hose bib (that's the spigot on your house), and a female end on the hose itself and then pretend you want to make little baby hoses. In other words ... connect them together.

I asked an earlier question confirming this will work on an electric Hasqvarna 1200 PSI pressure washer. However, I've had no luck. I actually returned/replaced this item because I thought I had a defective fitting, but I'm getting the same result with the replacement. I'm using a 25' Zero G ultra flexible garden hose connected to my salt water tank with this fitting to wash my vehicles and it will simply not work. It acts as if it's blocked at this fitting. No water makes it to the pump. I turn the pressure washer on and nothing. I remove the fitting and connect the same hose directly and it works like a champ, so I know it's not the hose. I've used a similar setup to wash my vehicles from this same hose for the last 4 years using a hose sprayer. Thought I would give a pressure washer with a foam cannon a try. Now what?

            Answer This Question

With the hose removed and the fitting unhooked from the tank, you should be able to hold this in your hand and blow into it (with your mouth) and air should pass freely through it. If not, look for anything that might be obstructing it. If you don't find anything obstructing it and you still can't blow air through it, ask someone at a Home Depot store you look at it. I've used dozens of these and there really is no trick to them. That's probably not what you wanted to hear but that's the only logical solution at this point.

If I connect the male end to the water inlet of my pressure washer, and then connect the female end to a garden hose, will it provide the connection I'm looking for or is this strictly for low pressure garden hose to low pressure garden hose sprayer?

It will work on a pressure washer, that's what I use on my machines.

I used the exact setup you mentioned for a 1.2 GPM electric pressure washer and had no issues. Based on the self shut off design, I imagine at high flow rates (gas pressure washer?) it may have a larger restriction effect. What you can do is connect the male end to the quick disconnect without any garden hose accessory on the other end. Open the faucet 100% and see how much water you can add to a bucket in one minute to get gallons per minute. This would be your best case scenario (the maximum that can flow though your hose and quick disconnect without additional component restrictions).

ADDING THIS QUICK-CONNECT FITTING DOES NOT ALTER YOUR PRESSURE IN ANY WAY.

The hose I use for my pressure washer is 3/4 in, and I was wondering if I will get less water flow into my pressure washer with this quick connects.

I wondered the exact same thing and couldn't get an answer. So, I just tried it and I did not notice any difference whatsoever. This device is so much better than the old way of connecting it that I wish that pressure washers just came that way from the factory. Go for it!

JLo, Thank you for your interest in the PowerCare Garden Hose Quick-Connect Kit. This connector will not create less water flow. If the connections work the water flow should remain the same. Thank you for asking. - Vini

Bought to quick connect to do a backyard rink as it has to be done in layers over several days. Rather than helping to make things easier ended up not reconnecing unless the delivery end was loosened causing a leak. When connected it reduced water flow by 80%. Absolute scam of a product. Caused me 5x more problem that I could have avoided by not buying this
