Questions & Answers

Continuity check where on ohms does it go?

When Checking Continuity, and I move it to Ohms, there are three settings on the Ohms section where should I set it???
Asked by: Bob
If you have a break it will go to infinity, otherwise you'll get a low reading. The actual reading depends on the wire type and length.

I need to check button batteries, where should I set the multimeter?

My old multimeter had a button battery setting that I used frequently, does this one have it somewhere I didn't notice?
Asked by: Watchmaker
It doesn't, but use the DC 10V setting. Button batteries can give you a hint: the first letter tells you the nominal voltage. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Button_cell (Type Designation) for a table.
