There are little plastic wings that come out as you tighten the 2 screws on the side. These lock the unit in place.

Good concept but cheap tabs break
Customer review from homedepot.ca logo
The plastic tabs that hold it flush to your wall are a very brittle plastic. They break far too easily leaving the wall plate sticking out. I'm finding plenty of other people online with the same issue now. 1 tab broke on install, the second one broke 8 months later while I was sitting in my room this morning having coffee. We heard a small noise and the outlet pushed out from the wall... Spooky. Hence this review to hopefully inform others. Great concept, and happy with the way it installs, but this issue really ruins what could be a great product.

I'm really please with this product. The recessed in the wall installation was so easy.My installation was different from what is shown on the box. I started by cutting the hole in the sheet rock for the power in unit. Then I drill a hole from the attic into the wall cavity were the power unit cut out was. I drop down a CKRE EXTENSION to connect to the power in unit. Now I have the other end of the CKRE Ext. in the arrtic. I also drop down the HDMI wire to the power in unit. So part one of two is completed. The second part was to first add the TV Wall Mount to the adjacent wall once I found the depth from the sealing I wanted the TV to be. Now I cut out the hole for the power out unit in the center open in the TV Wall Mount. Knowing that I can't drill down from the attic, because its a outside wall I had to remove sheet rock from the wall in order to drill up into the attric. Once that was done I ran the power out unit wire up into the arrtic and connected it to the power in unit from the adjacent wall in which I started. After that I ran the HDMI cable from the adjacent wall were I started down threw the hole I drilled in the adjacent wall were the power out unit is. I also ran the directv cable in the same manner. Now all the wiring was completed. The last item was to replace the sheet rock that I cut to drill the hole, tape it and paint it. This was the easiest, cleanest operation for a TV Wall Mount you would ever want.

This kit does what it says it will do. The finished install looks a little odd with the included extension cord (unless hidden behind furniture), but its clearly described, so no surprise. The boxes do require a lot of depth, so be sure to check your wall before getting too far into your install.

Cheap quality, complete kit
Customer review from homedepot.ca logo
The box itself seems cheap. A few things not clear from description: - Included template for wall opening is 2.75" wide by 3.75" tall - Includes a male-to-female power cable to connect to power source - The screw is fixed to a small plastic arm that fits on the inside of the wall If you have ferrite cores on your HDMI cords be prepared to do a little extra work. You'll have to either file down the opening slightly or remove the ferrite cores.

The product was as described, and installation was relatively easy. (Except for the fact that the stud bay I used had a fire block in it and I had to cut through the Sheetrock at the block and cut in a channel for the cables.) But worked as advertised.
