Q:What is the minimum thickness that the product can be secured to? We have 1/4" wood paneling attached to studs on our walls.

Answer This Question

A:  Ben, Thank you for the question. Our kit will work with wall thicknesses down to 0. Our tab wings can tighten down all the way to the back of the front plate. The only concern you would have would be how sturdy is the wall, and wood paneling will be plenty sturdy to hold the product in place. Hope this helps. Thank you. The PowerBridge Team

A:  Thank you for being a loyal Home Depot customer. We recommend 6 feet total length between the inlet and the outlet.

Q:A contractor put drywall up over our plaster walls in the bedroom where I want to use this product. In this situation, can I still use this product with the mounted tv?

      Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for the question. Yes our product can be used in this situation. In its standard configuration our product handles roughly a 1 1/4 inch wall thickness. If the contractor used 1/2 inch drywall and the plaster wall is 3/4 inch, then you may be able to use the product straight out of the box. If the wall is thicker than 1 1/4 inch then we may have to replace the standard screw with a longer screw, if that is the case then we would want you to contact us so we can walk you through the process. In all cases the product can be used, we just may have to make some minor changes to the way it is installed.

Q:Can you use an outlet adapter on this? I need to plug in two items.

        Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for the question. We make a Two outlet version that is meant to have two items plugged in. Since the products are ETL certified and NEC code compliant as they are designed, we do not encourage adding items that would increase the outlet capacity, thus allowing additional items to be plugged in and potentially overloading the circuit. The better option is to use the Two outlet model and maintain the certifications and code compliance.

Good concept but cheap tabs break
The plastic tabs that hold it flush to your wall are a very brittle plastic. They break far too easily leaving the wall plate sticking out. I'm finding plenty of other people online with the same issue now. 1 tab broke on install, the second one broke 8 months later while I was sitting in my room this morning having coffee. We heard a small noise and the outlet pushed out from the wall... Spooky. Hence this review to hopefully inform others. Great concept, and happy with the way it installs, but this issue really ruins what could be a great product.

I'm really please with this product. The recessed in the wall installation was so easy.My installation was different from what is shown on the box. I started by cutting the hole in the sheet rock for the power in unit. Then I drill a hole from the attic into the wall cavity were the power unit cut out was. I drop down a CKRE EXTENSION to connect to the power in unit. Now I have the other end of the CKRE Ext. in the arrtic. I also drop down the HDMI wire to the power in unit. So part one of two is completed. The second part was to first add the TV Wall Mount to the adjacent wall once I found the depth from the sealing I wanted the TV to be. Now I cut out the hole for the power out unit in the center open in the TV Wall Mount. Knowing that I can't drill down from the attic, because its a outside wall I had to remove sheet rock from the wall in order to drill up into the attric. Once that was done I ran the power out unit wire up into the arrtic and connected it to the power in unit from the adjacent wall in which I started. After that I ran the HDMI cable from the adjacent wall were I started down threw the hole I drilled in the adjacent wall were the power out unit is. I also ran the directv cable in the same manner. Now all the wiring was completed. The last item was to replace the sheet rock that I cut to drill the hole, tape it and paint it. This was the easiest, cleanest operation for a TV Wall Mount you would ever want.

            Look elsewhere
Impossible to run cables once in the wall. The plastc clips that secure the plate to the wall easily strip, fall off, and disappear behind the wall.

              Worked great
Easy to install. Worked exactly as needed. Makes it easy to connect power from below to a recessed outlet behind a wall mounted tv.
