18 in. 62DL Starter Kit

The hardest part about this system is finding a compatible chainsaw. I've always wanted to try this because I HATE sharpening saws. I ordered online and then went saw shopping. I found a small Jonsered 2238cs at a pawn shop. That ended up being the biggest issue since it liked to die on me occasionally. I cut 7 cords of slabs with it for the winter and multiple trees down this spring. Although, I preferred to use my stihl for actual cutting down the larger trees because the powersharp chain is wider and tended to get stuck in the tree. I used the powersharp and jonsered to delimb and cut the tree up, that worked great other than the saw. I just wish it could be used on larger saws since 2 ish hp for the recommended saws really slow it down. I just ordered a second chain. I ordered the (541662) 18 bar starter kit at first and now a new chain and stone. make sure you get the starter kit with bar and chair or well it wont work. I use the 18 bar on the small saw because I'm mostly cutting slabs from a wood mill. I would recommend a smaller one if you plan on felling any trees with it. Just count to 5 once you push hard enough to see sparks while sharpening. no need to go overboard and grind the chain off after 3 sharpenings. If its a little dull sharpen it a few more seconds.

It cuts well but doesn't fit my Ryobi as well as it should

Easy to use

Starter kit arrived but would not fit my 18inch Poulan chainsaw. I sent it back and will order the 16inch kit. The 18inch powersharp chain was about 1 1/2inches short, bar was OK. I already own a 14inch kit and it works outstandingly. I recommend this product line.
