Answer This Question

A:  Yes, this is the proper way to measure your file.

A:  You would need to look it up in the manual for the chainsaw. You can look up most chainsaw manuals online by entering the Model #.

A:  I had no trouble with my kit and the instructions were included. Maybe you just got a fluke one. The ability to sharpen my chainsaws rather than paying someone is a great saving and feels good.

A:  There are usually videos that will help. I free handed my sharpening by using the round file that fit my chain the best with the attached handle.

A:  BAMO, this is a good question I personally have the one with the Brown canvas pouch and looking at all three of these kits and settled on this one. If you look closely you will see they all have the same basic four sharpening Files in their case. The angle gauge is the same in all three kits as is the wooden handle. The kit I chose works very well on my old Chainsaw and that is what you are looking for in a sharpening kit. The case may vary however the diameter of the files are standard just like the angle guide. It boils down to what carrying case you want. eyedaddy

A:  The power care, which I have, is great and I would highly recommend it. If the others appear identical I would still choose power care.

The only reason I'm rating this is because home Depot relentlessly sends me emails to rate it. It's a file kit, nothing special. You either use it correctly and have a sharp chainsaw or you use it wrong and have to replace the chain. Nothing special.

Has everything you need for a reasonable price. You get what you pay for though. I would recommend this for someone just learning to file or as a backup file set. Cheaply made for sure
