I’m very happy with the drill press overall.
I assembled it by myself using an overhead crane. Fabricated a steel trolley to mount it on with leveling casters. I only have one gripe but not worth bumping a star for, I wish that it would have come with at least a chuck key holder and possibly the micro jig table that does come with the 100th anniversary edition of this press. I work mostly with metal or I would have gotten that one but it just doesn’t have low enough RPM to do that.

Flawed Table Design
It is a solid tool and mostly really well built. The speed adjustment is excellent. It has plenty of power. The setup was straightforward. My only complaint - which I think is fairly significant - is that the table will not lock in the 0-degree position tightly. At the 0-degree position, there is a hole for the locking mechanism to fit into to ensure that it is exactly at 0 degrees. This is a fine idea, except they didn't make the pin the precise size. As a result, the tabletop wobbles about 1 degree no matter what I do. I went back to Woodcraft to see their unit and it does the exact same thing. I find this to be extremely disappointing in a $2000 tool. I called Powermatic customer support snd was told this was withing design specs.

Very happy with my purchase
Great drill press, extremely well crated. Everything went together perfectly, assembly instructions were easy to follow. Warning: it is VERY heavy, the head unit is especially heavy and awkward. The directions suggest 3 people, I strongly agree. The LED lighting is fantastic. The depth stops are really nice as is the cast iron table. The lasers are cool, although I have difficulty seeing them when the lights are on in my shop, could be my color blindness. They were very easy to adjust, and very accurate. I also purchased the micro jig table, jury is still out on that, I think I like it, but not 100% sure yet.

Next generation technology
I am a new owner of this drill press, and I am very happy with my purchase. The press is built very well, and seems to have quality components all the way around. Assembly was very straightforward (although heavy). The variable speed and high/low direct drive transmission works very well. I haven't used it for many projects yet, and obviously I want something this price to last a lifetime, but initial impression is that it is well worth the money. I also purchased the downdraft table and highly recommend this accessory for anyone with dust collection in their shop. The table design makes changing from the downdraft table back to the regular table insert very easy. Highly recommend this product.
