If it’s an exterior door with hinge on the left and it swings outward, but the doorknob is above the cylinder - which version do I get and do I need to adjust it?
Hi Jess, Based on your description, the MLG01 may not be the correct version. This model is designed for a left-hand, swing-in door. Since your door has the hinges on the left and swings outward, the handing is different. We recommend confirming the door handing before ordering. The lock is not designed to be converted from left-hand to right-hand by simply adjusting the lock.
Can I use your thumb turn cylinder to replace one of the cylinders? I need a one cylinder lock as I need to be able to always open the gate from the interior.
Yes, you can convert the MLG01 lock set to a single-cylinder setup with an interior thumbturn. The lock body accepts standard 1-1/8" mortise cylinders with a standard cam. To convert it: Loosen the cylinder set-screw on the edge of the lock body. Unscrew the interior keyed cylinder. Screw in a standard mortise thumbturn cylinder. This will allow you to always unlock and open the gate from the inside without a key, while keeping the exterior side securely keyed.

Can I interchange the handle with a lever? Need to replace the lock body and cant find the exact one I need. This is the closest one I have found but had a knob instead of a handle

Is it locked from the outside, but unlocked from the inside when closed?
Hi SYVC - Yes, the exterior will always require the key to open. The switch button on the trim of the lock allows for passage mode, letting the exterior remain unlocked when closed. Thanks
Do they come in different sizes
I purchased this and returned it… seemed to be offered in only one size
The size is the same but options for Right Handed or Left Handed applications, and can be installed upside down with the knob above the cylinder which is common for gate locks. Thanks
What is the projection from exterior door surface to end of knob. I need 2 1/8 ? or less when installed.

Can this lock set be used with a wooden fence gate?
Hi - if your wooden gate has a lock box with similar dimensions as this mortise locks inner mechanism (3-5/8 in. x 5-1/2 in. x 1 in.) it should work. This lock is typically used in iron gates with a pre-cast lock box. Thanks
