Product Details

This expandable four-tray system dehydrates fruits, vegetables and makes homemade jerky from meat, poultry and seafood. It's easy to use and easy to store. The drying trays nest when not in use for over a 35% reduction in storage space. Dehydration maintains natural vitamins and minerals with no additives or preservatives. This Presto model includes four drying trays, expandable to eight trays for added drying capacity. The Bottom mounted fan and heating element provide consistent air flow for optimum drying with no tray rotation necessary. A See through cover on the top tray lets you monitor drying progress. Drying trays and cover are fully immersible and dishwasher safe. Accessories sold separately. Additional trays sold separately. Fruit Roll Sheets, Non-stick Mesh Screens, Jerky Gun and Jerky Seasoning also available.

    A:  I have only used my dehydrator for fruits and vegetables. Chicken has to be properly prepared or it can make someone sick. My friends have made beef jerky so maybe there is a way to prepare chicken safely.

          A:  The 06300 Presto® Dehydro® electric dehydrator can dehydrate SOME herbs, but most need to be dried at a lower temperature, 95 degrees. This dehydrator is preset to 165 degrees.                     This broke after 3 months. Bought it 8/20 and it died 11/20 while I was dehydrating 6 trays of fruit. Are you kidding me? I am so DISAPPOINTED.

                      I liked this product very much. I've dehydrated tomatoes and herbs so far. Oh and some bananas to make them into chips. However mine didn't crisp up as I thought they would. They came out rather chewy, even after drying them for 10 hours! Two negative things I can say about the machine is that it's loud and large bodied. Other than that I'm happy with this purchase.

Heating element on top when the natural thing would have been at the bottom and let the heat rise. Don't plan on jerky; instruction say to half cook first. Legs too short to allow circulation. Strongly prefer old, old Harvest Maid dehydrator.

                            I'm really impressed with the performance of the Presto Dehydro...
                            I'm really impressed with the performance of the Presto Dehydro and I love how the shelves collapse for storage, many are simply too large for my usage. It IS noisy, it reminds me of an old fashioned hood hair dryer as far as sound but that doesn't bother me, they all tend to rumble. It has done a phenomenal job on veggies & mushrooms that I like to store for off season use. I think this dehydrator is a great value for the cash if you're in the market for a smaller one but if you have a larger family or do lots of dehydrating, I'd check out their larger models since this one only has 4 trays. I also got the fruit roll inserts, highly recommended machine and accessories.
