The Defender Security U 9586 Stainless Steel Lock and Door Reinforcer assists in preventing forced entry by reinforcing the weak spot of your door. It can be used to reinforce and repair metal, fiberglass and wood doors. Constructed of stainless steel, the lock reinforcer plate comes in a natural finish. All the necessary mounting hardware is included for a quick and easy installation. The lock reinforcement plate is pre-punched for mounting. The reinforcer is designed for snug fit on a 1-3/4 inch thick doors that have mortise or drive-in latches. Measuring 3-7/8 inch wide by 9 inch tall, the reinforcement plate accommodates key-in knob locksets on doors that have 2-1/8 inch bore sizes, with a backset of 2-3/8 inch from the edge of the door. The door reinforcer is non-recessed to fit over your existing latch.

Do you have a model were these holes are round vs with a straight edge on each side.
The edge is slightly rounded , it is not a sharp edge , I am going to put them on all my doors

Yes I have one. I used it to help repair a steel door that burglars had broken the deadbolt lock off of and damaged the door. My door had two lock holes one for the deadbolt and other for door knob and only the deadbolt area was damaged. I had to trim off some of the bottom to clear the door knob assembly but I wanted as much coverage as possible for the deadbolt and that was this unit. This is thinner than I expected [perhaps less than 1/32"] but best I found and perhaps thin to fit in a tight door jamb fit. Used this to strengthen the lock area and hide the burglar damage, also went with a much stronger Schleigh deadbolt. I do recall determining the correct part was difficult because there were severial similar units and the sizes were listed differently from model to model of the same brand and think I recall some listed the thickness as "adjustable" which I do not see how that can be done on a one piece unit. Measure twice buy once.
