People say the length-lock is loose. Can't I just drill through both tubes and put in screws?

i.e., once I find the length I want, why not just drill holes through both tubes behind the length-lock and put in short screws? Seems like that would make it secure, as long as you don't need the "partially open" option (which is just silly, since it'd never be secure).
Asked by: EricTheRon
Yes you can, I would use white screws to match the color of the bar. NOTE: If you put a screw in this will not allow you to use the "partially open" option.

Can it be cut down for a smaller opening?

Can it be cut down for a smaller opening?
Asked by: Tobesvet
Yes it can be cut down easily. The collar that holds the release spring pops off the end of the bar then cut the outside back as far as needed. I removed 6 inches off mine to fit in a speciality door. Cut the center piece about 3/8 of an inch shorter. This allows extra clearance inside. Modify yours to use a pin as shown in my review and they are pretty Kool.
