Questions & Answers

compatible latch to handle

Which mortise latch is compatible with the C-1225 door handle?
Asked by: ron
Your best bet is to take the original part to the store with you to see how they match.

Wondering if there is an easy way to replace this lock?

Asked by: PrimeLine
Yes, the problem is the faceplate, which is stamped out of metal where the hole is for the mortise lock unit, thus causing the faceplate to be a bit wider or twisted a bit outward. I had to grind it down a little, but it was still a tight fit. So if you can reduce the width of the faceplate by maybe 1/32 of an inch, it probably would install easier. I had to take the philips screwdriver, insert it into the screw hole of the template a bit, and use it to help wedge start it into the door a bit. This was the only way I could get it into the white plastic door frame.
