Flexible but not sturdy enough
Good product, spikes insufficient if dirt is soft. Had to use longer spikes

Quick/easy install, looks great
Fast install, flexible, easy to curve and float over minor elevation changes. Subtle, rolled edge will be safe to have the kids running around (vs the flat steel borders available). Purchased in bronze which blends in nicely with the landscaping vs the bright GREEN or BROWN only options from other brands. NO CUTTING REQUIRED; just slide extra length back over previous pieces before you pin in place! Make sure to account for the 4” recommended piece lap when ordering enough for your project.

    Easy To Work With
I like this stuff. It's easy to work with. The sections fit together nicely though a bit of a challenge at first. Cutting with a jig saw worked really well. The nails are rugged and hold even in wet soil. Nails can be driven through roots. It was easy to shape into a circle and adjusted to my slight slope.

I needed to edge my walkway, an an affordable way. The spikes rust. That is my only complaint. Easy to install.

500 feet of curved beds? No problem with this ProFlex product!
I am beyond pleased with this lawn edging product. I have installed almost 500 feet of this edging in our flower beds/lawn borders, which are all informally curved. The 6' lengths interlock/slide on to each other and they easily curve to adjust to the beds as needed. The spikes help lock it in. Its 4" deep which should finally resolve our problem of grass creeping in from our lawn to our beds. I liked the fact that I can install a box or two (24' of edging per box) and come back later to continue the edge. Its easy to cut with a grinder. This aluminum product much more durable than plastic and much easier to work with in my opinion. Also, this edging was "mower tested" by our riding lawnmower wheels and didn't bend. My wife and my lawn maintenance company love the look!

Great aluminum edging with a clean look
ProFlex Silver Aluminum Edging takes a little work to install, but the results look great! If you are looking for clean looking edging, that isn't bulky or made of plastic, this is a great product.

        It Came Out Perfect
I don't usually use edging in my gardens, but decided I had to in this case because my condo's ground crew is out of control with their weed whackers (they cut off plants and even turn my metal garden stakes into pretzels). I was dreading this project and thought it would take all afternoon, but it only took an hour and a half (for a 40' border) and I had fun doing it!!! It looks great, and I don't even like edging, as a rule. I'm very glad I decided to spring for the metal edging (people seem to have big problems with the cheaper plastic stuff). I followed the directions (many reviewers of this product clearly didn't) and also paid attention to tips that competent reviewers wrote. I will emphasize these and add couple tips of my own. 1) Properly prepare the border where the edging is going. Doing this will save time and headache later. Cut your curves or straight lines as perfectly as you can, and make sure one side is nicely vertical, leaving a trench on the other side. 2) Connect all the sections in advance and in a clean area, like a lawn or driveway. I think trying to connect them as you go would be a major problem. 3) Even if your connections have a good four inches or more overlap, as mine did, tape them together before moving the edging "ribbon". Doing this keeps them from sliding apart, and you can either remove the tape later, or tape it where it will be buried. I thought it might be hard to move my 40' "ribbon" into position, but it turned out to be easy, and the edging conformed to my curve naturally. 4) Backfill a little bit, between the spike holes and pack it so the edging is secured into place, before driving in the spikes.

Aligning and inserting the sections together is somewhat tedious but if you are patient, the sections slide together. I strongly recommend putting all the sections together that you will need for your entire bed since aligning and sliding sections together after the pieces are in the dirt will be next to impossible. Another tip is if you have or can borrow a power edger or bed definer it will create a perfect trench to insert the edging while avoiding the back-breaking labor of using a straight spade to do this. The product is significantly less expensive if you don’t need a color.
