Hi cm, the aluminum edging can hold up to a string trimmer. We do not recommend to use any trimmers with a metal blade against the edging. As with any edging, a metal blade weed trimmer will damage the surface.
The edging is 1.6 inches high.
Hi Mike, the Aluminum Paver Edging Kit includes metal spikes which anchor the edging into the ground. Heave from freeze/thaw can be mitigated by installing the edging with the tabs under the pavers, which will stabilize the installation. The metal spikes also are designed to corrode slightly to provide more grip in the ground. Hope this helps!
Hi Kim, The aluminum paver edging can be installed either way: with tabs facing away from the brick, or the tabs sitting under the brick. So long as the vertical wall of the edging is firmly against the pavers to keep them in place, the tabs can face either way. Please refer to the paver brick manufacturer instructions to determine the appropriate base material and paver installation method.
Hi there FIKaren. This edging can certainly be used to create a separation between mulch and rocks. The flexible aluminum can easily be bent into rolling curves or 90 degree angles. The edging uses a tabbed anchoring system and includes anchoring spikes, so you shouldn't have any issues with keeping it secure. Simply level the ground and hammer the spikes through the holes in the tabs to anchor the edging in the ground. We recommend to position the tabs toward the heavier ground cover (rocks in this case) and assure the tabs are completely covered to the top of the edging with that material to add an extra layer of support for the edging. Additionally, make sure the mulch is packed firmly against the opposite wall. We hope this helps. Have a great day!
Hi Garimous, if installed correctly, the Aluminum Paver Edging Kit should be sufficient to secure concrete pavers you. Since the bricks are already in place, you will want to make sure the edging sits level on the base materials with the wall flush against the paver stone edges. The top of the edging should sit below the edge of the paver blocks - edging should not be seen above the paver edge. Secure the edging with the anchoring spikes along the installation, making sure you pound the spikes through the tab hole, into the paver base, sand, and soil below. Then, backfill to the top edge of the pavers with your ground cover material, assuring the edging tabs are completely covered. Properly installed, the aluminum paver edging should provide the stability you need for your concrete paver project.
You need to measure the linear footage, the outside length of each side. This listing is for 48 linear feet.
The Aluminum Paver Edging Kit includes eight 6 ft. pieces of edging, which are approximately 1.6 in. tall with a 1.2 in. tab.
