    Yes. The trim piece is 9 1/2 x 9 1/2. The box that goes into the ceiling 9 x 9.

    First thing, I'm glad Home Depot carried an item for an older home. I wanted to add another square recessed light in the hallway to match the other one. The fixture had a white metal frame that matched the existing one. I had it installed at the end of last month, November 2016 by a local electrician in the town where I live. It works and looks great! I am very pleased with the fixture and would purchase another if needed.
