Used on concrete. Needed to be sure the holes were deep enough for tapcon fastener, but seems to do the trick.

I had my doubts these steel plates would hold a deck post rigid enough but it turns out they work really well. The hardest part was centering the plate on the 4x4 post. I ended up drawing a pencil line from corner to corner across the end of the 4x4 then positioning the plate so the pencil line was visible in each hole. That marked the center and I screwed them down. Perfect. Great product, Highly recommended.
