I bought this lift for my Spa Manufactures Inc. spa, I've also used this model on 2 different Coleman tubs. My only caution is to lift and lower the cover from the center i.e. while in the tub, as it prevents frame raking which causes the screws to work themselves out.

How will I know if it FITS my hot tub. I got it from Home Depot lat year. Does this LIFT fit...

Depending on the size of tub you own, not a 2 person or anything like that, yes it is adjustable to fit most tubs.

Is this product made of steel or aluminum ? both are listed.

It’s definitely Aluminum (probably used to be steel). Obviously Aluminum is the better choice as it does not rust

Sketchy Company
The lifter is made of Aluminum, which prevents rust but aluminum is a soft metal that bends and breaks easily. The design flaw is that they require you to screw into the lifter arms to secure the chain, which creates a weakness point in the arm. Instead, they need to give you brackets that tighten around the arm and attach to the chain. The arms then split in half right along where the screw hole was after about 3 years with below average use. To add to the saga here, I contacted coverbutler.com, which states “lifetime warranty” and tried to get new arms. They then fabricated a lie saying that QCA stole their design for the lifter and that QCA even stole the name. They said because of this- I needed to contact QCA for the warranty claim since it was produced by them and not coverbutler.com. They then tried to get me to buy the parts at cost so they didnt have to honor the warranty and could recoup the cost!!! Pretty clear they are being dishonest because QCA then directs me right back to “coverbutler.com” when I asked about warranty information. I’m sure they are in some sort of partnership together. Buyer Beware - probably why no warranty or product information is posted on HD! HD should pull this off their website for fraud!

This cover lifter works well. I'm a single, older woman and I needed a cover lifter I could use by myself. This one fits the bill. It slides a little so I'll need to put some set screws near the brackets to prevent that. But otherwise, it works perfectly!

As long as the price stays reasonable around 150 which I think is fair, then as a Hot Tub service tech & repairman, this is the most lifter for the price. The fancier lifters with hydraulic arms, locking pins etc, can be nice, but more $ & break at least 5x faster than these for what I do. I deal with nightly rental units so many guests from all over the world, all ages & all levels of soberness, so you can't have a complicated lifter, otherwise they will force it down even if there is an automatic clip that tried keep it open (so it doesn't fall on your head). Next point it that when the cover is fully open it doesn't hold it way up like a wind sail like some lifter models which is an awful design. The winds simply blow enough to bend cheap metals which just adds to all the variables I consider when thinking of a good functional simple hot tub cover lifter. It comes with all parts needed for install, only thing you need to have is a drill with a Philips head, an extra bonus tool would be a 7mm socket for the screws that hold the base, it has a slot in them, but trying to drill into a deck floor, or the bottom base of the hot tub with a flathead is not fun. Back to the point, these are the best, even for home private use, adjustable length makes this fit "almost" all tubs.

Hot Tub Cover Lifter A Success
Our old Lifter attached to the actual sides of the hot tub and when there was ice on the hot tub cover and it was lifted, it created too much weight on the Lifter and where the Lifter was attached to the actual panels of the hot tub it broke the sides of the tub. THIS Lifter does not attach to the sides and anchors into the platform under the hot tub. Works better as well! Definitely recommend this Hot Tub Cover Lifter! I ordered it to go with the QCA Spas 81.5 in. x 81.5 in. Hard Hot Tub Cover for Cypress, Crete, Palmero, Salerno, Sardinia and Corsica Hot Tubs.
