Product Overview

  • Closed-cell foam design ensures water resistance
  • Equipped with two covers for preventing heat loss
  • Ideal to use with a rigid cover for optimum results
The Soft Top is a remarkable foam cover that is not affected by the chemicals found in spas. Unlike most foam covers on the market the Soft Top does not absorb water. The foam cover comes in a roll at a dimension of 82 in. x 88 in. which you can trim to custom-fit the shape of your spa. The cover floats on top of the spa water to retain heat and condensation. To obtain the utmost in energy efficiency, use the Soft Top with a rigid, hard cover; the dead air space that forms between the two covers provides excellent protection against heat loss. Compared to commonly use solar blanket material, the Soft Top will last much longer and insulate far better.
  • Closed cell foam resists water absorption
  • Resistant to chemicals normally found in hot tub water
  • Maintains a barrier of air between water and hard cover
  • Helps prevent heat loss and enhance energy efficiency
  • Use in conjunction with a rigid cover for best results

Does this have any chemical smell when heated (like vinyl does), or is it intert/odorless? Does it have chemical treatments? Does it have any PVC or vinyl? Is it easy to roll up and lean against the wall? Does it come in larger sizes, or, if not, can two pieces effectively be used, overlapped by an inch?

Can you use the soft cover WITHOUT the original hard cover? Looking for something light weight during the summer to keep trash out of the hot tub.

Sure you could -- but you'd lose a lot of heat -- it's designed to be an extra layer of insulation under the regular folding cover

Does it matter which side sets in the water?
Asked by: Char
No, both sides are the same. Once you cut it you'll find that only one side will float on the water.

Can you leave this cover on while you're heating up your spa in order to decrease the amount of time that it takes to get to the desired temperature? Is that the whole point or does it simply aid in keeping the water warm when the heater is not running?
Asked by: NewSpaOwner
Absolutely! I've used this type for years. Much superior to the "bubble" blanket.
