Questions & Answers

Can I use it to line kitchen cabinets? Will it be too thick? What is the best way to cut it?

Asked by: NHO
You can use it to line cabinets but it might be too thick for looks sake, it is 1/4 inch thick. To cut it I used a very sharp utility knife and straight edge.

Why would I want to glue this cork and not just float it over wood subfloors if I plan to float hardwood on top of it?

You don’t have to glue it down. My husband and I have a floating hardwood floor with this underlayment.

Any advice on this: i don't want to glue or nail it because this is a nice hardwood floor and when i move out i want it to remain intact - will it make the floor unstable if it's not secured/fastened down?

My husband and I have a floating hardwood floor with this exact cork underlayment and it, too, is floating. We have noticed that the hardwood slats have shifted a bit, but that’s to be expected since we left an expansion gap and live in a 30yo house. It’s been installed for close to two years. Hope this helps!

How well will this hold up over time...if walking on for years will it sink in lower? I need to level up my floor with the kitchen floor 1/4 of an inch before lay click and lock planks down. I worry over time this will sink in.
Asked by: Ry
The cork is very dense. I laid tile over it 2 years ago and have had no problems. Just follow the directions on how to adhere the cork and you'll be fine. Hope this helps you. Good luck!
