The QEP 11 in. Stainless Steel Floor Trowel with Mega Grip Handle is designed for long lasting durability. Large, contoured cushion grip handle with extra handle to shank clearance allows complete hand rotation. Full size 11 in. x 4-1/2 in. trowel blade is designed for the professional installer.

For thinset application of ceramic tile 8 in. x 8 in. or smaller, laminated wood plank flooring, flat milled solid and shorts or plywood
Stainless steel

A: Yes. Smaller notches may also work. Generally, size of notches determines how much mortar is under the tile. Final height of mortar, after tile is placed, is one half the notch height, so for a floor you might adjust mortar height for alignment of tile with adjoining flooring. You can also adjust height of mortar by the angle of holding the trowel - 45 degrees versus 90 degrees, which changes mortar thickness. Good idea to set one tile and then lift it to inspect fir proper mortar coverage.

bad quality. design flaws.

Do not buy. Get a different brand. Failed before completing 1 small bathroom job. Trowel blade surface too thin. Connection between handle and blade poorly designed.

Worth the upgrade! Your hands will thank you

I upgraded to this trowel with a more comfortable handle for a 400sqft porcelain tile project and it was very comfortable to use. Easy to clean and stainless steel means it will last me a lifetime of DIY projects. 1/4 x 1/4 x 3/8 is proper size for 12" porcelain tile onto concrete subfloor.
