This stone works on smoothing a cut edge on ceramic tile. Useful on a snap cut that leaves a sharp edge. It can smooth small chips but takes effort.

Can i use this to sand down 10 of an inch?

I don't understand your question. Do you want to sand down 10 inches or a 10th of an inch? Inches aren't usually divided into decimal increments. 0.1 inches is between 1/16 and 1/8 inch (closer to 1/8). It would take quite a while to remove 1/8in, but you could do it. If you need to remove 10 inches, you should use a manual tile cutter or a wet saw.

Great stone for smoothing rough tile edges, especially mosaic tile. I have used this lightly over the years to smooth tile edges, mostly glass in mosaics. The dark side is rougher than the gray side and it needs a regular cleaning with water and a brush but is a handy tool for 'perfection' in tiling.

I had no idea these Sanding Stones even existed. Made my tile job look so much more professional - and I am getting MUCH more use from my wet saw cutting blade. I would highly recommend - and I'll never do another tile job without one of these sanding stones.

I bought this to smooth tile edges. It did not work will for this. It leaves a fair bit of its own powder after using. It would probably work fine on something a little softer than ceramic tile.
