Answer This Question
A:Â The QEP Diamond Grit Tile File features a fine diamond coating on both sides to smooth the edges of all tile after cutting. It is compatible with ceramic, porcelain, glass and stone. You may also want to consider, The QEP Glass Tile Nipper is designed to easily cut irregular shapes in glass tile, between 1/32 in. to 1/4 in. thick, without the use of conventional cutters. Use this nipper to trim glass tile to fit around pipes, cabinets, walls or create eye-catching glass mosaics. Simply hold the nipper like scissors, with the tile between the wheels, and squeeze the handles gently. The wheels do not need to turn when you are cutting.

File has very comfortable handle that does not get slippery if wet. File abrasive works well on edges and filing down corners inside tight cuts. Recommend having some water nearby to rinse as you use so abrasive surface does not load up with material by rinsing.

I’d use tool to clean up slight little nicks on tile after cut by just running flat side across just a couple times. Rounded side I used to clean up rounded corners obviously. Then corners of the flat side i would use for 90deg cuts mid tile.

I purchased this file to trim some excess tile from tiles that are on the floor. This seems to work some but it takes a long time and I gave up on using this for my task. Needed to replace a flange on my toilet and tile setter had laid the tile too close to the flange. I decided to use a grinder on my drill and this worked much better for my task. Perhaps file would work better if the tile was not already installed.
