This set of QEP Xtreme tile nippers work really well on pretty thick tile. The tungsten carbide tips handle the hardest ceramic tiles and allow chipping off small pieces for good control of shaping an edge. The handles are comfortable and grippy for using beyond just a cut or two. The only thing missing is a latch; instead, there is a small velcro strap that won't stay put. Otherwise, a nice value for a heavy-duty set of nippers.

Good Tile Nippers
This is a solid tool with tungsten carbide tips. They made easy work of a ¼” tile that I needed to take off corners to work around some pipes. The handles are rubberized and comfortable to hold and use. They are spring loaded and open up after making a cut. The only downside is that there is no latch to hold them together so you need to use the little velcro band that comes with it to hold the handles closed when not in use. Otherwise you’ll want to keep them snug in your toolbelt or buy a holster for them if you plan to use them a lot on tile jobs. The handle is about 4.75" and the entire tool is about 8.5". Made in China

Did not work on my projects
As a DIY woman, I attempted to use this tool to cut ceramic. A cup’s broken handle needed to be trimmed off so that it can be used as a pencil-holder on my desk; the nippers did not cut evenly through the 5/16” piece. I also tried to use this tool to cut off 1/4” palm tree roots, which are as stiff as ceramic, but the blades were not sharp enough to do the job. Perhaps strong, he-man types may find these QEP tile nippers easy to use, but I did not.

easy to use
These nippers are heavy duty and easy to handle. Depending on what your nipping, the tool can be turned with the offset left or right to get a good angle if it is a curve you are trying to accomplish. The tool works fine, I had absolutely no chips on porcelain tile surface- but It is not a nice smooth edge you will get with these- I cleaned up the edge with a grinder if I needed to. The tungsten tips are strong enough, but I experienced a surface chip at the rear of the nipper after a few uses, they are still operable but I would not expect that to happen.

Quality tool
The QEP Xtreme Pro-Series Offset Nipper is a well made tool. There are used for ceramic and procelain tiles up to 5/16 " thick. Offset tungsten carbide tips for smooth irregular and curved shapes. They are designed for all day use with spring and shock bumpers. They do have a bit of weight to them, not heavy, yet sturdy and balanced. The handles are designed for comfort. I'm sure other hobbist or tradesmen could use these too. I dont see any instructions so probably some practice trial and error to figure out the details.
