Product Details

Museum Wax is the same formulation museum conservators have been using for years. This microcrystalline product provides instant grip to secure collectibles, artifacts and more. It is specifically designed for use on wooden surfaces because it will protect the wood, as well as securing items to it. The wax should be used on more permanently mounted items and comes off with mineral spirits. Scoop out a little from the jar and roll it into balls, apply it to the bottom of an object, then lightly press the object on to the surface. A 2oz jar is enough to secure up to 100 items of average size.

    A:  Yes this should work great for your application. However Museum Wax is not suggested on unfinished wood as it could leave a stain.

      A:  NO ! DO NOT EVEN TRY. That is not a polishing type wax, it is more like soft candle wax used to keep valuable collectables from slipping off shelves etc. It sticks like glue, but comes off with a little heat.

            A:  OK, how to describe... it is not white, not opaque, but not see-through, there is no real color to it. You can see it where you put it, if it is not hidden, but since it has no real color, it is not very obvious unless fairly close to it.

            A:  Our QuakeHOLD! Crystalline Clear Museum Wax is clear but can appear opaque under certain lighting. As an alternative, we also sell QuakeHOLD! Museum Gel, which is best for crystal glass as it's even more opaque than the wax.

                  Museum Wax is the best product to keep smaller objects in place so they don't move or fall off a shelf, display area. You can easiky move or remove your object when needed. We use it all the time to place small items in printers drawers.
