A:  Thank you for your inquiry. The best way to do this is to first drill a very small hole in the handle. Be sure not to go all the way through. (The hole should be smaller than the screw you will use.) Then, you can more safely screw in the squeegee. Thank you. - Quickie

    A:  This should work for you as it was pretty easy to drill a hole for a screw which I would recommend over a nail.

      A:  Yes, I would recommend a wood screw to secure squeegee head to pole for a more permanent hold not to large a screw enough to go into, but not necessary to go through the pole... be careful not to crack pole no# 8 size 1/2" long pan head....Hope this helps

        The thickness size is not as advertised on the Home Depot website.
        I drove to Home Depot to buy this because I needed a 5' wooden dowel. The thickness needed to be 1-1/8" , for my application. I found this item and purchased it. When I got home, I found out that it is too thin. It is milled at just over an inch. It will not fit correctly into my fitting. It is too sloppy of a fit. The thickness needed to be 1-1/8". I needed to wrap tape around it to make it fit somewhat better.. Home Depot had dowels with a thickness of 1-1/8", but only 4 feet in Length, which is a foot too short.

          I actually used these poles to make a teepee for my daughters baby shower ..they are holding up beautifully...and were less expensive then buying sanding and staining raw poles myself..not to mention the labor in doing so.
