The threads are backwards in the photo of this item. Is that a picture anomoly or does the handle have "lefty tighty" threads?
Asked by: Rob
It's a standard thread. Works with both scrub brush heads and paint rollers just fine.

I'm looking for a nut to use with this ferrule, rather than screwing the handle into a wooden block, etc. Is there such a thing? If there is, what name/size/thread count?
Asked by: Sal
I believe you'll be hard pressed to find a nut with that size and taper. It's not an SAE standard for nuts and bolts. I'm sorry i don't have an answer for that.

Hardwood Handle/Pole with Metal Ferrule is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 196.

The thread broke right where it transitions to the taper of the metal casting. So instead of making the thread joint strong, they made it hollow and have the wood in the center. I expect to buy another one in two years. With all the computer analysis tools around, you would think they could make one that doesn't break. But apparently not.

I just bought it for the wood handle, even though they sell one without the ferrule, to fix a broom. Works fine. Long though. About 5 feet. Not a normal length for a kitchen broom. More like for a push broom. The one without the ferrule has a long slanted taper. I cut off the ferrule to for my use.

I bought this for a squeegee head and found later that the head had a tapered insert. No problem, I flipped the new wood handle over, whittled a taper into the end then secured it with a pin. I still have the threaded end should the need arrive.

Lacquered wooden handle is good quality hardwood but the thin metal threads snapped after a few months of use. Metal threads are hollow with the extending through them. I now several nice wooden broom handles that can't actually be used to push a broom.

But it does seem to work, although it's really a higher quality and price than I need for painting foundation concrete.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best Hardwood handles are the best. I had 3 shop brooms with broken tubular steel handles. Great brooms, they just couldn't stand up to the abuse of 4 and 5 yr olds. The wood handles however can take the punishment and keep on going
