About This Product

QuietCool Solar Attic Fans are the best in the industry offering the largest panels at an affordable price. This fan features a 40-Watt solar panel, a preset thermostat, an ultra-energy efficient DC motor, a heavy-duty steel housing, and an included AC/DC inverter. Solar attic fans work by using sunlight to power the fans motor to help prevent any heat or moisture build up in your attic. Your attic can reach temperatures of up to 150°F which can destroy the integrity of your home as well as completely destroy your roof because of the humidity and moisture build up. Because of this, solar attic fans can prolong the life of your roof structure and air conditioning while helping you save up to 30% on A/C costs. With a QuietCool Solar Attic Fan, you also get the benefit of an included AC/DC inverter. This allows the fan to run 24/7. When there is sunlight outside, the fan will run only on solar power being powered by the large solar panel on the fan. When there is no sunlight, such as at night, the fan will switch to AC power and continue to run throughout the night. This allows you to take advantage of cooling your attic during the coolest part of the day. Simply mount the fan to your roof and plug in the inverter to enjoy 24/7 cooling and ventilation in your attic.

        Answer This Question

A:  Hello, Take the sqft of the attic space and multiply that by 0.25 then multiply that by how many feet tall your attic is at the peak and that will give you the CFM needed to keep the attic space close to the outside ambient temperature. 65 years young and installed without any issues!
My reviews aren't showing up??? These units work great. It runs when the sun hits the panel and it runs on AC after the sun goes down until the air is cooler. Use lots of roofing tar and make sure it's sealed!! I sealed the base unit and secured with screws. I used extra flashing to double seal the area! The person who had a leak obviously didn't monitor the process or hire the right people to install it. I carried this up onto the roof myself, 2 people might be needed for steeper roofs.

65 years young and installing them myself!
The first one worked so well, I bought a second one. The guy who gave this a one star because the installer failed to do his job and he had a leak was not rating this product fairly. One can of roof tar is all it takes to make sure you don't have leaks(see attached photo). It's easy to install and sealing it right is very important. The solar feature and the lack of sun power adaptor makes this a no brainer in reducing a hot attic. 130 degree attic temp is a thing of the past.

This fan makes a huge difference!
Since my roof has concrete tiles that had to be removed/replaced/trimmed/sealed, it took about 8 hours to install. I used extra flashing/sealant. The temperature in the living room felt much cooler the first day of use and the AC didn't run as much!!! It's in the 90's and I will be putting two more in as soon as possible. It should reduce my $600 electric bill by a nice margin and the units will pay for themselves in one summer. Ratings for delivery and CS were low because they were N/A.

The best thing I did in years for the house. We installed two QuietCool 40 watt ,both to replaced manual air vents that existed for long time. The hot temperature doesn't stay in the attic for too long . Now the temperature in the evening after a hot day is evenly distribute and it is much easier to cool the house with some air from outside or the AC.

Design Flaw.No weatherproofing. Leaks into attic
I had this unit installed on my home roof. When it rains, water seeps between the metal base and the fan housing. The housing sits on top of the metal base and the seams are not weatherproofed with any kind of water gasket. When i called customer service, How could they come with a outdoor attic fan design that doesn't shield itself from rain water. The water entered my media room through the attic and had secondary water damage in the house. I totally do not recommend it.

Make sure it is installed by a professional
Bought this solar fan based on recommendation from a solar sales rep. They installed it and now it leaks. Do not allow a solar company to install. Hire a roofing company please or deal with my current situation. Fan seems to work as my attic temperature seems to match the outdoor temperature.

Due to the current COVID situation, this can't be installed at this time. However, I was able to un-package it and test the fan both on AC adapter power and with the solar panel and it moves lots of air. The unit is well built and well packaged (don't try to move it to the roof without help! It isn't light.) . The solar panel is adjustable both in tilt and which direction it faces. The included AC adapter (to run the fan when solar is lacking) has a nice long cord. With the summer temperatures here in the desert reaching around 110 right now I'm sure this would have made a huge difference in our attic temperatures. I'm anxiously awaiting the opportunity to install it and we'll see next summer how much it helps.

Good fan, easy enought to install and quiet opperation. Everythying is built in, just need to install the fan and your set. Replaced an existing squeeky roof vent and this is a much much better solution. Try to install where no trees will shade the panel at any time of the day. The smallest shadow will have a large effect on the functionality of this unit.

Amazing solar roof attic fan. Tried it out of the box on a sunny day here in Colorado and the fan worked immediately once the sun had a couple minutes to ramp up the motor. I will try and add a short video to hear how quiet the fan is along with a couple photos of the system. I still have shake roof so awaiting my new roof to install the fan once the shake is removed. I believe this fan will be very helpful to reduce the attic heat in the summer. Very impressed.
