DO NOT USE WITH ENGINEERED HARDWOOD!!
We spent $550 on this to go under our 1800 square feet of new engineered hardwood floors. We ended up having to pull all the floors back up to remove it!!! I'm very disappointed that they recommend this for engineered hardwood! It was so squishy that when you stepped on the end of one board it would separate from the end of the board next to it. That would cause the edges and corners to get chipped or rubbed off if sliding a chair, toys, or feet on the floor. I feel ripped off!!

            Unusual application with great result
QuitWalk was used under our balcony hardwood flooring prior to being replaced almost a year ago. At that time my better half recognized the advantages and possibilities for the main house rugs over our salito tile runners in the hallway and asked for the underlayment to be used for a rug underlayment where we had tried felts, rubber, dual surface felt & rubber, etc. 11 months later she is please with the padding for holding place, perfect padding w/o the thickness which is not attractive.

Thick cushioning along with sound dampening!
Since the floating floor that we were putting in did not have any underlayment, I was forced to add it separately. This is a quality underlayment with many great features and attributes. It has an advanced vapor barrier, superior sound reduction, compression resistance, thermal insulation, and it is made from ninety-four (94) percent recycled materials so that makes it Earth Friendly as well. You also have several options for installation, you can float it, nail it or glue it. For my case it was float it. An unexpected positive extra feature was I didn’t need my knee pads as I was putting down the flooring because I was already kneeling on the cushioned underlayment. A couple of minor issues that I ran into was the taping of the instructions and details of the product to the roll, it taped all the way around it. And when I tried to remove the tape, it started ripping the underlayment. So, I had to carefully cut away the instructions and leave the tape, otherwise I would lose about 3 to 4 feet of underlayment. A simple plastic wrap would work instead of the tape to keep the instructions and the roll wrapped. The other minor issue was it felt like there was small pieces of dirt or some foreign objects that I felt as I was unrolling it. So after cutting it to size I swept the underside and then the top side and the floor to make sure that I was not getting any foreign objects trapped underneath the flooring. The cushioning would probably be able to cover it, but I didn’t want to take any chances. It is very thick, and you do have use a sharp box knife, but that is a good thing that it is so thick. And my last and most favorite part about it was the way it was able to be taped together, it made it so easy to connect the two sections with the tape and the over layer plastic. A good underlayment to install and use for flooring that require it.

            Dense, Quiet
A bit tough to cut, but once installed this QuietWalk underlayment is very easy to install. Scissors won't cut it. A box cutter needs to be very sharp. It's tough to cut because of how dense the fiber is, which is why this pad is so quiet. After installing the planks on top, there is no echo or hollow sound to the flooring. I can without reservation recommend this product for use under your laminate.

            Great underlayment!
This is 100 so of great underlayment for my new flooring. I was looking for something more substantial and this is definitely it. It provides a cushioning underlayment as well as the water barrier to keep the new flooring dry and well protected. This product is exactly what I have been looking for and I am very happy with my selection and I am sure it will protect my flooring investment.

gives the floor a professional feel, not hard but not soft and quiet
I'm about to install an engineered hardwood in my master bedroom.  I have had two opinions about underlay, one is for it and another is against it (meaning no underlay).  So I set up a little test first to see if I first want underlay and second which one do I want.  I set up a short walk test as I enter my master where part of the new floor is on underlay and the other isn't.  I know for sure I want underlay.  As to the second question, this underlayment is great.  There's a distinct professional feel to that part of the floor, it is just right not hard like when directly on the slab.  I like the self stick edging, but my guess I'll still need some edge tape.  Overall this underlayment gives me the response I'm looking for from the flooring, solid but not hard and quiet when walked on.  This will be in my master bedroom, so I'm not worried about other issues of concern in heavily traveled parts of the house.  It's perfect for my requirement.

            Easy to install
I can’t really speak to the quietness of this on a first floor (over a basement) application because I installed it in a basement over slab. This is a storage room that I am “semi-finishing” with wall insulations and laminate. I laid down dimpled subfloor covering and then installed this in the opposite direction. It goes down super easy and is easy to cut. The adhesive strip held really well, enough to hold tight, but not so bad that you can still reposition it without tearing. My daughter actually laid down on the laminate said “wow, this is warm”. She was expecting it to be cold like the rest of the basement.

            Okay product
I laid the mat on the basement floor as we are planning to install wooden flooring in the basement and hoping to put this mat beneath the wood to avoid any damage to the flooring due to spills and cracks in the floor. So far it looks good. Though there are a few things that can be improved, First, the product has no iadhesive, you have to cut the Quiet Walk roll to fit to the floor. It would have been better with the Adhesive. Secondly, it’s very thin, by itself it is ineffective as a sound absorbent, but it does dampen the sound somewhat. So this may not be very effective to layout in a upper floor bedroom but is good forbasement floor.

            Pretty good underlayment
I’ve installed laminates throughout many homes and have tried many of the underlayment products. But I can definitely say I chose this one because it’s something different. This reminds me of Carpet underlayment. I just use it as a basic underlayment for a floating laminate install. In my opinion it definitely softens up the walking. It does help the sound of walking in certain shoes. The quality of the underlayment is very good. It has a blue plastic bottom that is definitely a good barrier. It does not tear easily. And I cut it to size with a regular blade. The only thing that kind of worries me is the top of it could possibly in my opinion at least get moisture on it and not dry quick. I did put some water on a piece just to test it out it out and it did dry good. And it almost looked like it would repel it. I’m not sure if I would continuously use this type of underlayment unless customer request it. The quality of toughness and everything is there and It does do what it says. And I guess no liquid should ever be going through a well-installed floor but I’m just wondering of that once in a while situation. It is a nice product. I would use it again but I would only recommend wife in bedrooms and living rooms.

            Quiet walk flooring solution
I am totally impressed with the quiet walk plus advantage. This product resolves 2 purposes in one. The vapor barrier and padding are included in one convenient roll preventing the padding from sliding around on the vapor barrier. The padding also makes a great sound reducer while providing some insulation under the floor. It as not only a great product but also eliminates some of the labor because you achieve purposes with one step. I really like the product and recommend it.
