Q:I have a master bath that's 6' x 11'. One toilet. How do I move the heating element to go around the toilet flange.
by|Feb 23, 2023

Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for reaching out. You don't cut or move the mat around the toilet. You install separate mats along the side and in front of the toilet if you have room. If there is not room beside the toilet, you would simply install the mat in front of the toilet.

Q:should the mat be between the mortar..or directly on the subfloor without mortar underneath the mat ? Thank you Gary

        Answer This Question

A:  Hi Gary, this is a peel and stick design and will go directly to the properly prepared subfloor. Once it is installed over the subfloor and wires routed then you can place the tile flooring over the top with the appropriate thinset.

A:  Yes, It should just stick to the floor. I grooved a notch for the wires.

          by|Sep 12, 2023

A:  Directly on the subfloor, using the self stick, then mortar on top. I had the same question, and called the factory Directly. Good luck

                Not for beginners
I loved the idea of a heated floor in my bathroom so I purchased this product. Had to add a circuit to my electrical panel, drill holes under the house to run the wire for the new circuit. After all that I wasn't able to get the floor level for the tile and the grout cracked and the floor sounded like a true floating floor. When I removed the tile I found that the adhesive was still wet where the mat was. The mat is totally ruined now because some adhesive stuck very well and pulled the covering off. I've abandoned the heated floor idea now because of timing (no time to order new mats) and am very disappointed that I didn't know how difficult this would be and wont have a heated floor in my bathroom and the time it's taken me to lay down and remove the tiles.
