If you're looking for underfloor heating for tile or glue down floors, this is a good option. The heating mats themselves are very durable and have a very rugged layer of protection on top of them for the thinset or glue to stick to when you put down your flooring. The only complicated part of the installation is the wiring. The heating mats themselves are very thin, and will fit effortlessly below any floor. The wires are somewhat thick and harder to fit. The instructions tell you as much as possible to put the wiring (and thermostat) next to a wall or trim, which is definitely the best way to go. With the space I had (medium sized bathroom) I didn't really have that option, but leveled out the floor with thinset so that the tile would fit well even with the thick wires and thermostats. This product does not include a thermostat, so you will need to buy one for each room or area that you wish to heat. They are generic, so as long as you match the voltage (120v or 240v) you can use any brand. You also have to install a temperature probe for the thermostat. I ordered an extra temperature probe to install under the floor just in case. I routed my wires and taped them down, and then applied thinset. The floor was also pretty unlevel so I put thinset in other areas as well, although you generally do not have to level the floor around the mats. They are not thick enough to really have a noticeable effect once you put the flooring in. The mats work well, but they do not heat up very quickly (just like any electric underfloor heating system). In my test with ~70 degree ambient air temperature and 64 degrees floor temperature, the floor heated up about 5 degrees per hour, so it took about 4 hours for the floors to go from ~64 degrees to my set temperature of 84 degrees. 84 degrees had a nice warmth to it, but was not hot. Setting the temperature too high (>90 degrees) is supposedly unhealthy for your feet and legs. The other piece of advice I have is to cover your floors very densely with the heating mats. They only heat the floor directly above the mat. If you have 1 foot gaps between your mats, that gap will not really be heated. Take your time and install them well, as you do not ever want to tear the flooring out to fix them! The mats can be cut every 4 inches or so. The installation manual tells you where you can cut them. Overall, I highly recommend. Like any underfloor heating system, the installation is quite involved, but the results are worth it! This is a fantastic way to heat small places like bathrooms. If you are already putting new flooring down, its worth it to spend the little bit of extra time and money for underfloor heating, its a cheap way to gain a lot of equity for your home!

I've been using radiant heat under my flooring as I've remodeled or built additions for a few years now. I have a small lake house that I've been remodeling since I now live in it year round which includes our very cold winters. I've been aggravated with other heat film because it curled up on me and you needed to have another person to help or weights that would keep it down. This peel and stick heat film works great! I found it very easy to install on the floor (I had an electrician wire the thermostat to this film). I used tile over this film but you can use glue down flooring as well according to the label. According to the product manual (picture of page attached) you CAN NOT use vinyl or linoleum floor coverings with this QuietWarmth Peel & Stick Radiant Heat. I have attached pictures to this review showing do's & don'ts of this heat film to make it easier to answer any questions you may have before purchasing this product. I also attached a picture of the part that peels off the film to stick it on your floor. For DIY installation, I highly recommend this heat film.

Great Idea for any bathroom remodeling and or on each side of the bed when waking up, As a remodeling contractor I have been recommending under floor warming and installing them so far I have never had a call back with any problems, Easy enough for a homeowner to install, Easy peel and stick on sub floor and install tile or wood flooring, comes with 15 leads to connect to thermostat, I use a programmable thermostat to start at 5am in bathroom floor and by the time I get out of the shower the floor is nice warm. the only con is the thermostat is expensive but well worth the benefits of having warm feet. 10 year warranty.

Marble tiles are beautiful, but they are also cold. So when redoing our bathroom with marble, we decided to heat the floor. This bathroom is quite small, so we only needed one strip of the heat film right down the middle of the tiles. I dare you to see the difference in height, you won't see it (the strip runs down the center tiles). Installation was without a hitch, and now we have a snuggly warm floor to step on when stepping out of the shower. I could not be happier!

This was about the longest experience I ever had setting tile over a substrate. My orders did not come in on time. I had to explain to my customer that the tile could not get done. They had guests stay while the place was torn up. I have been doing this work for 35 years and I believe it’s time to stop doing it. It’s experiences like these just over recent years, that I wonder, “What happened?!?”
