Questions & Answers

What is the mixing ratio for quikrete fortified 8610
ByAug 4, 2026
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

Generally when Acrylic Fortifier is used it is diluted at a 1:1 ratio. You would take the amount of water needed to mix a given product and use half that amount in water and half in Acrylic Fortifier. For further assistance please call 1-800-282-5828

    ByApr 1, 2026

I use Ultracal 30 to cast smaller figures. Will it work with that?
      ByJan 18, 2026
      1 Answer |
      Answer This Question

Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. QUIKRETE Concrete Acrylic Fortifier is primarily designed as a bonding agent admixture for thin Portland cement coatings and other cementitious systems. It is used to improve bond strength and water resistance in products like QUIKRETE Sand (Topping) Mix, Quick-Setting Cement, QUIKWALL Surface Bonding Cement, and various stucco products. Since Ultracal 30 is a gypsum cement and not a Portland cement, the compatibility of QUIKRETE Concrete Acrylic Fortifier with Ultracal 30 is not specified in the product information. For specific guidance on using this fortifier with Ultracal 30 for casting smaller figures, it is best to contact The QUIKRETE Companies directly. You can reach their technical services at 1-800-282-5828 for further assistance. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future.

How much adhesive do I put in 2 bags of cement
        BySep 25, 2025
        1 Answer |
        Answer This Question

That will depend on which product you are mixing it with. For Sand/Topping Mix you should use 0.5 gal per 80 lb bag. You will also need to reduce the amount of water recommended on the package by 0.5 gal. Please call our help line at 1-800-282-5828 or contact us through the LiveChat feature on our website Quikrete.com if you need any further assistance.

Do I mix this with premixed cement in the 20 pound bucket or is this only for bags of cement you mix yourself?
          ByJul 9, 2025
          1 Answer |
          Answer This Question

This is used for Quick Setting Cement for applications of feather edge to 1" thick.....for 1-2" thick you will need to use Concrete Bonding Adhesive in lieu of Acrylic Fortifier and apply that directly to the existing substrate. For further assistance please call 1-800-282-5828

Repairing an old step , do I add this to Quikrete quick setting cement when I mix , or paint it on surface before applying cement ? Or both ?
              ByJun 5, 2025
              1 Answer |
              Answer This Question

You would mix this product in with the Quick Setting Cement. You will use 50% Acrylic Fortifier and 50% water if you application is 1" to featheredge. If it is 1" to 2" then you will forego the Acrylic Fortifier and paint our Bonding Adhesive on the surface instead. For further assistance please call 1-800-282-5828

                great product
This product worked great. I used in a 60lb bag of quickrete to help prevent cold joints in a hole i was filling in my garage floor. Follow mixing and water adding directions and it worked great. I had no cold joints as you can see in the picture.

I think that the concrete product that I purchased was not ideal for the application that had in mind--specifically, filling a corner of the foundation that had fractured off, but this product nevertheless facilitated robust hardening of the sandy mixture.

I added this acrylic fortifier and water in a 50/50 mix (iirc) to Quikrete quick-settting cement when I rebuilt an outdoor step a month ago. Everything seems to have bonded adequately and I have not seen any problems.
