Q:How can you tell if the product is the right consistency before taking it home?

    Answer This Question

A:  QUIKRETE® Stucco Repair tubes are sealed to protect product utility. The tubes themselves flex slightly – the material should feel soft inside the tube.

A:  Yes, just had my house painted and it blended right in. Results may vary. I used a satin paint and primer to hide repairs. I would recommend after filling in cracks lightly wipe residue away with a wet sponge. This tip will make your repairs and paint job look seamless.

Q:After reading the reviews, it seems a lot of people had trouble with the unopened product having hardened in the tube. Does the unopened product have a limited shelf life or was there some sort of manufacturer quality assurance issue with a particular batch of the product? If it has limited shelf life, are there markings on the tube that will tell me the expiration date?

A:  Mine is ok, but it keep oozing out non stop by itself

A:  Had the same problem. Put it into the gun and none would come out. Than I attempted to stick a long wire into the end. Just bent the wire. Not a happy camper. Would not recommend.

A:  Yeah I had the same problem, darn near broke the caulking gun trying to get it to flow and it still wouldn't come out. Not happy

A:  QUIKRETE Stucco Repair's shelf life depends on storage conditions primarily. If stored at 70F and unopened, it will last indefinitely. If subjected to a freeze/thaw cycle, it will become unusable.

A:  I don't know if it hardened in the tube or was stiff when manufactured. However, when I applied it to my wall it did not flow well from the tube and was difficult to spread. I was not happy with it at all.

                          Horrible product doesn’t work
The product was so dried out, I had to cut it open to use it. I would have been better off purchasing a tub of stucco. I wanted the ease of using a caulking gun, but this was a major fail.

                            Works really well.
I used this to repair stucco window bands on my house. The product is thick but applies easily enough. It does tend to keep running after you release pressure on the caulk gun but if you capture the excess material you can then apply it with a putty knife, finger etc . . I originally cut a small opening in the tube and the next day i had a hard time getting the material to flow again. Once i cut the tube opening to about 3/8” i was able to use the product for several days without it clogging up the tube overnight. The color says “Sandstone” but it matches my 20 year white stucco very well. For small repairs you can’t even tell it’s there. I saw some negative reviews, decided to try the product anyway, and since i had a good experience thought i’d share.
