Questions & Answers

Does this material already have a bonding adhesive in it, or should I purchase that separate to this item?

Asked by: Kris
I used a bonding adhesive with it. If you are using it for repairs it's worth it.

Is this strong enough to set a metal clothesline t-post? There's a lot of strain on the posts once the clothesline is tightened.
Asked by: Solarized
My answer would be...it depends. If there is a lot of strain on the clotheline, i would not use this for your purpose this would pull away from wherever it was applied. You should consider drilling a hole for a bracket into some existing masonry and screw it in with heavy duty adhesive

Can this be enough to set a mailbox post?

Asked by: Deb
This stuff is the "Quick-Setting" and is used for repairs and can be molded. I used it to fix a busted stoop corner. I used Quikrete "Fast-Setting" mix to put in my mailbox post and fence posts. I don't know if the "Fast-Setting" mix is available at HD, I bought it at their competitor's store.

Can this product be used to make stepping stones?

I bought the concrete mix and it looks just like the cement bought at the hardware store, so I am curious!
Asked by: Lu
You bet, I would add about 50 percent mix, 25 percent sand, and 25 percent 1/4 inch gravel. Pour it in your mold, smooth it out, tap the sides to prevent rock pockets, add your finish stone to the top, then tap the finish stone in with a wood float so it's at the level of your mix, then take a brush and smear the cement around the rock edges. Monitor & when cement starts to harden, take a moist sponge and clean the finish stones. This product will set very fast and although can be used for this product, I would use a ready mix for stepping stones because you will get more workability time and same strength.
