Can this be used to make small statues in latex molds? If so, can it be used by itself or does it...

Hi Kam, Since I was not familiar with your process however I had used it alone without mixing anything. I either mixed with water and form it in place or simply pour the cement on the ground and water by “mist”, lightly spayed on tops and let it set and even the surface with a tool. Good luck!

I want to make a rectangle block of concrete with my kids hand prints in it for my wife. Would this work?

Yes, it would. Suggestion, add some pebbles or small rocks to make it stronger. Consult with the Home Depot for further instructions.

I would say "Probably". Depending on your meaning of a medium gap? I used mine to fix my garage floor as salt ate away at it. This was about 4in wide, by about 3inches. Maybe a little less that a 1/4 in deep. Its been a few years and no issues

Does this product need to be acid etched before painting with a water based paint

QUIKRETE® Quick Setting Cement does not require acid etching prior to painting. For water based paints, we recommend allowing the Quick Setting Cement to cure for a week prior to coating.

Can I use this to seal the bottom hole of a clay planter? I am trying to make an Olla for my garden.

Yes, I don't see why not ! I would put tape on the outside of the hole and spread a good paste of Quikrete into the inside hole and on the inside of the bottom !!

QUIKRETE® Quick-Setting Cement is designed for thin-layer repairs to concrete. For your application, we recommend instead one of our quality concrete products. Asked by Mark April 13, 2021

Answer

QUIKRETE® Quick Setting Cement is not designed to prevent water intrusion at foundation junctions. To repair this type of leak, the water intrusion will need to be addressed from the exterior of the wall. Typically, excavation followed by the application of bitumen (tar) is done to facilitate this type of leak.

Can it be used to raise an old slab?

Asked by Newhomediyer April 1, 2021
1
Answer

QUIKRETE® Quick-Setting Cement is designed for making small repairs to concrete and masonry assemblages. Raising an old slab typically requires a topping instead of a patching material. For toppings of ½” to 2” thick, we recommend QUIKRETE® Sand/Topping Mix. For alternate product recommendations, we recommend contacting our customer support staff toll free at 800-282-5828 or online via LiveChat at www.quikrete.com

Your dimensions are larger than we typically recommend for QUIKRETE® Quick-Setting Cement. For those dimensions, we would recommend QUIKRETE® Fast-Setting Concrete Mix instead.

Sealing a concrete repair is a good way to prevent further damage at the repair area. Sealants are optional, but will extend the service life of cement based repair materials.

At first I was afraid to try. I did this morning to mix them with water. Advise you wearing mask because of the powder and gloves to protect your hands. I made two containers for my driftwoods. I will add tillandsias on the driftwoods later when the cement get hard and dry.

I used this cement mix to repair settled paver stones on our patio. The settling was noted on the house inspection report. The Sakrete web site said this mix is a good alternative to sand to repair sinking pavers. This mix is easy to use and firms up quickly. The ants will not be able to dig in it and it will not wash away. The 'before' picture shows where the pavers were sinking. I removed the pavers, smoothed the sand that was still there and built the base with cement mix. The 'after' picture shows that the pavers are now level.

Needed this to repair some badly damaged stairs in our basement. The faces of several stairs had pitted so bad that during heavy rains, our stairs leaked water into the basement. First we filled the heavy divots with Quikrete fast-drying concrete mix (red bag). Then we used the Quickrete Quick-Setting Cement to fill in the smaller holes and provide a smooth, level finish. This stuff dries quickly so read all the directions and plan to work on small areas between each batch you mix. I used a 1 gallon bucket to mix the amount I needed for each step. By the time I got to the bottom of each bucket full, the cement mix was starting to harden. I did use the Quikrete Bonding Agent to substitute half the water for each batch mixed. I completed this project in an evening and have had several heavy rains since. My stairs no longer leak!

I have used this product quite a few times over the years and it's always worked pretty consistently. Most recently I used it to patch a hole in a brick exterior wall where the old electrical meter box used to be located. I mixed up the cement and i was actually able to apply it vertically without much additional work. i didn't have to fight with it to keep it in the hole as it dried. It turned out great. I was also really convenient to be able to mix it up in the bucket it came in. Saves alot of time and no need to buy a bucket. You can throw it away when you're done, or clean it out and save it for your next project.
