Product Details

Quikrete 70 lb. All-Purpose Sand is a multiple use sand that is a good choice for a number of different projects. It can be used as underlay for brick pavers and flagstone. Quikrete 70 lb. All-Purpose Sand can also be used to increase traction on snow and ice. This sand is perfect for landscaping, gardening and patio projects.

      A:  QUIKRETE® All Purpose Sand is a typical construction grade sand, but it is not recommended for use in creating habitats for wildlife. QUIKRETE® Premium Play Sand (No.1113) is safe for use in sand boxes intended for children’s use – this is the sand we recommend for creating habitats for wildlife. QUIKRETE® Play Sand is often recommended as a winter bed for chicken dust baths. Most of the sand grains for QUIKRETE® Premium Play Sand are 1/8” and smaller and there is fine material. All sands contain silica. The gradation can vary somewhat based upon region.

        A:  QUIKRETE® All Purpose Sand is a properly graded coarse sand to be utilized for a variety of purposes such as mixing with Portland cement and gravel to make concrete, underlayment for brick pavers, traction on snow and ice, and mixing with potting soil.

            They changed this sand!
            Ive been ordering this sand for 3 years for our chicken coop. Today we picked up another 4 bags and its play sand! Not at all the previous, “chunky” all purpose sand from before. Dissappoibted and annoyed that I had to load it all, unload, load again to return :(

              NOT 'sand' by any common definition...
              It appears to be pulverized concrete washout with lots of fines and about 12% by weight of material that will not pass a 1/4 inch mesh screen. I would recommend it only for aggregate to add to concrete, or filling in potholes in gravel paths and driveways. Not suitable for use with plants or sandboxes.
