This 1/4 inch hole saw is great for drilling little holes through some tile. In my case I used it to drill holes so I could put up some bathroom towel hangers. The packaging was a bit concerning, felt like some dude just printed out the material sheet and stuck it in a plastic baggy. But the product worked perfectly fine and got the job done. The knurling on the tip was slightly bigger than the shaft of the bit so it was able to be removed easily.

RIDGID 5/16 IN. DIAMOND HOLE SAW is a great design. It has a vent hole to remove filings so it won't clog and will help to cool the drill. The drill is gold color. It is a hex drive so it will fit into bit adapters and any standard chuck on most drill motors. It can be used in a drill press. It is best when using to tilt the bit slightly start the drill then center the drill.

This is the perfect drill bit to drill through tile and fiberglass. I used it to drill that hole in a fiberglass enclosed to help with a water drain. I also used it to drill a hole in tile so I could mount a closet rails for sliding doors. It drills easily and doesn't move around or slide around while drilling like other drill bits do. I feel for the larger size bits that it will need a guide to help stabilize in place.

I am tiling a bathroom floor and needed to drill a hole for a plumbing pipe. I already have a tile hole saw but you need to adhere a template to keep the saw from moving around and I was out of the template so I grab this because you didn't need a template.. I marked then clamped the tile to my bench. I used painters tape to reduce any chipping. The key to using this is to start at a 45 degree angle and slowly start cutting. As you cut through tilt the bit so it eventually is 90 degrees to the tile.. Once I had a circle I removed the tape and then with a spray bottle, sprayed the bit and the tile. The cut was quick and clean and the few chips around the edges will be covered with bell flange.

This thing comes really well packaged! I would highly recommend this for anyone who needs to drill a hole in tile as an example for a shower arm in the bathroom or the hole for the arm extending out for the tub spout. It probably isn't big enough for a shower valve hole, but it is good for the others. It works fine, but like with any diamond hole saw bit you need to keep the blade wet, go slow, and take your time to avoid any issues.

The product, diamond tipped drill bit, is as described. I wasn't impressed with shipping box. It was crushed and this small item had even slipped out of the wrapping paper, thankfully clear tap had held crushed flap in place. no damage. I needed to replace a worn out bit so this was a blessing in disguise. Corian and glass beware another RIDGID bit.
