A:  I don’t see why not. I would just be prepared for it to get dull sooner, then again ceramics and porcelain aren’t exactly soft. Maybe cut out from an old sponge and wet while inside the bit to avoid as much dry friction as possible. Good luck!

If you have a tile floor and you need to open holes for say water lines behind a bathroom vanity, this is your choice. While I cannot say how many cuts you will get, it worked for me for my plumbing and vanity job where I relocated my water lines through an already tiled floor. This saw is rated for stone and granite. What's so nice about it? It works! It seems to cut faster than I expected; with a bit of water dripped onto the tile and saw, the cut was fast. I followed instructions; I started at 45 degrees-something like 2 o'clock, then tilted the saw to 90 degrees-something like 3 o'clock. You must have a steady hand as there is no pilot bit. It is indispensable for drilling through stone, granite, porcelain, or tile. It works. I suggest practicing on a scrap piece of tile or two just to get the feel of the saw. It can be a dry saw but adding some water to the cut makes the process easier. It has a 3/8 inch shank. Impact driver worked for me. I can recommend this product.

This is a great addition to our tools. Great for drilling holes in nearly anything. Holes for cables. Holes for most anything you could possibly need to make a hole. It is easy to use and makes perfectly round holes. It cuts through tile like butter and as the instructions say, with minimal water use. Would work great on granite countertops, brick or concrete.

Cutting a hole in very hard surfaces like tile or stone generally requires a diamond cutting tool to make an efficient, clean cut. This V-Tech 1" Diamond Hole Saw from Rigid makes cuts in a variety of materials including ceramic, porcelain, granite, and marble. The hole saw can be used wet or dry, although wetting the material is recommended in most applications. In use, this hole saw makes clean cuts quickly and with a minimum of heat build-up using just a cordless drill. I'm impressed with this product and I highly recommend it.
