Q:I have an R4330 planer. The blades have never been replaced. The existing blades have 5 screw holes. These replacements have 3. Does this replacement still work? Do I need to be concerned with torque on the screws during the replcement?

A:Â Planerfool; The holes in these blades are for alignment pins. There are no screws that go through these blades. There is a hold-down metal bar that sits on top of these blades which has the five screws for retention.

A:Â Whether it's a 12.5 or 13" planer, buy the blades for a 12.5 or 13" planer. The blades are universal. Both Dewalt or Rigid blades with work. Look on the box of blades. On the box it should say what size planer they fit. They can be bought at Home Depot or Lowe's. About $25 dollars for a pack of 3. You must change blades when they need to be or you will destroy the paner, but lots of wood as well

Great planer
Bought this planer a few weeks ago I’ve made about 4 cutting boards various sizes from rough lumber. Planer did a great job on the lumber walnut , cherry and hard maple also ran the edge grain cutting boards through which came out great and saved a lot of sanding

I have a Ridgid 13 inch planer and needed some new blades.. I purchased these which are the only blades Home Depot stocks for Ridgid.. they do not fit my planer. They are smaller than the ones I have in mine so they must have changed design since I purchased my planer. I had to return them. So I can't recommend these blades unless you have a different 13" Ridgid planer than I do.

Amazing value and performance
Had this little planer for several years ( did not realise then that there was a lifetime warranty available but fortunately have not needed it so far)
Done an amazing amount of work including facing about 3 dozen sawn cedar 6x6 for three decks and all the deck timber plus all the usual shop jobs and still have the original blades in use!!
I love ALL my Ridgid tools , including table saw, impact drivers regular drills and my wife keeps stealing my Ridgid radio as it sounds so good.
Had three batteries replaced with no trouble at all, The Nanaimo service centre even had two delivered as I was some way away and he was out of stock when I visited.
Keep up the good work guys ,excellent products and service ,thankyou...........................

Very nice planer. Straight forward in use and leaves a very nice surface. I’ve been using 1x4’s for base trim. A couple passes through the planer and they are ready for stain with no sanding required. It does leave snipe on the first and last 2 inches of board and I’m sure all of them do. I just make sure my product is at least 4 inches longer than needed and cut the snipe off when finished. I did experience frustrating delays with my order and required a couple phone calls to resolve. Ended up taking 3 weeks for my order.
