The simplest idea is almost always the best
I use my RIDGID 14-gallon wet/dry shop vacuum all the time and have many accessories for this vacuum. The Telescoping Wand eliminates the need to constantly add or remove the two fixed-length wands that came with my vacuum. With the telescoping wand, you can adjust the wand to many different lengths. The telescoping wand collapses to 28 inches in length. This is about 8 inches longer than one standard wand section. The fully extended length is 48 inches, 8 inches longer than both standard wands connected. To adjust the wand length, you twist the locking collar to the unlock position and then twist back after adjusting the wand length. The locking collar is very secure when in the locked position. The telescoping wand, when collapsed, is too tall to store in the storage rings on the wheel covers while using the vacuum.
This is one attachment or accessory I will use all the time. And when the 48-inch extended length isn’t enough, I can always add one or two of the standard wands that came with the vacuum to it. If you consistently use the two wands included with your vacuum, then the telescoping wand is a much better alternative for you!

Durable and telescopes upto 48".
I have a Ridgid 2-1/2 inch 120v shop vac and a Ryobi 1-7/8" 18v shop vac. The nice thing about the Ryobi shop vac is it has the 2-1/2" hose port. This allows me to use my Ridgid hose on my Ryobi when I want to use 2-1/2 attachments. This telescoping tube is about the size of a stock Ridgid tube when not extended. When you extend it, it's about the length of 2 tubes. It extends 28" to 48". This gives you multiple sizes and positions to fit your needs. This is great for vacuuming floors with floor and squeegee attachments. You dont have to bend over and put wear on your back. It's also nice for cleaning cob webs from high corners and ceiling fans. If you have a hard to reach area like being an appliance, you should be able to reach it with this tool attachment. It does lock easily into place just by twisting it. You dont have to worry about it collapsing or extending while in use. Like the rest of my Ridgid shop vac attachments, this extension wand is durable and well made. I did notice that they make this extension wand in 1-7/8" if you dont have a 2-1/2" shop vac. This is another great Ridgid attachment. I recommend it especially if you clean high areas, low areas, and hard to reach spots behind or under furniture. If your shop vac has enough CFM, this wand would come in handy for blowing stuff like leaves, dirt, and dust without straining your back and knees.

Long overdue
Ridgid's vacuum line is hands down the best. Even the accessories are top notch. I built a cyclone and cart around my vacuum. My card holds several attachments and this one is going to be my wife's favorite. She can now reach the highest areas in our garage with ease. It has a simple lock to maintain the full extension. Built tough and does its job.

Nice extension for already the best wet/dry vacuums on the market
RIDGID is already known for making the best Wet/Dry vacuums on the market, adding this telescoping extension with locking can be useful for hard to reach spots without the worry that the extensions would come apart. The telescoping is very simple, twist to unlock, extend to desired length, then twist to lock and the length won't change. My only suggestion would be some sort of locking mechanism for the connection to possible end attachment would have been nice.

A convenient upgrade to my shop vac
I didn’t know how convenient this telescoping shop vac wand would be. I’ve always wanted something to extend my reach that was rigid, but didn’t require linking pieces like connecting straws. This is it.
I am 6’ tall and can now reach the corners of my 10’ garage ceiling without stretching or using a step ladder. With the wand fully extended, my hand is top of my head height. That’s way easier to control and far less tiring. It is truly rigid at its fully extended length, which is 48” as advertised. That length also makes vacuuming the floor easier. There is no need to bend over or to get right up on the targeted area. I can hold it hip high and it reaches 3’ in front of me with zero bend. Not a big deal, but nice after a day of making a mess.
To extend it you have to twist the locking collar fully to the unlock position. It will not extend or contract in the locked (good!) or the middle position. I did not force it in the middle position. It didn’t move with light to moderate pressure. There is a ton of adjustability as it is ribbed the whole length of the wand.
It is longer than a standard wand/extension tube, but still fits on the onboard storage. I cannot leave an accessory on the end when stored. That would make it sit too tall for my storage space.
If you have a RIDGID vac with the clip retention, this has that and works smoothly. All standard accessories clipped right on.
I have not used it to clean up fine dust, but I did not notice it leaking anything out of the joint. Overall, this is great. It makes basic tasks easier without complication, which makes it the right tool in my opinion.

A great alternative to standard wands.
The wands that come with a shop vacuum are not ideal, especially if you have a small shop. Standard wands either have the wands linked together all the time because when you want to clean the floor you need the full length and don't want to hunt for the missing tube. But when you aren't cleaning the floor, you have a long wand to store SOMEWHERE. Sometimes you need more than one wand length, but two is too long. Eventually the wands don't fit straight or securely and you end up with a wobbly weirdly angled wand.
This one accessory fixes all those issues. It stores compactly. There are dozens of possible lengths between minimum and maximum for a custom length to meet your needs. It's solid and secure and you only have one wand to keep track of!
I have found the wands are air tight (no leaks) and it stays securely set at the length you set. It's a great addition to my shop.

Adjust to just the right length.
I am using this extension on both my shop vac and my dust collector system. It works with all 2-1/2" dust collector attachments and hoses. It letm be adjust the length for comfortable vacuuming the floor, or getting the cobwebs on the ceiling. It is especially nice when you have people of different heights using it. The length that is comfortable for me is way too long for kids.
The adjustments are easy, with the excepion of the rotating lock. But I expect that to losten up with use. I expect to collapse it all the way for storage, and expand it for use.

Exxxxtension
Who’d have thought of this? Yankee ingenuity? Ever been a “wand short”? This bad boy extends out to four feet in length and will replace a couple of my non Ridgid wands that get stuck when I use them with Ridgid’s wands which have locking tabs. Reach high places, extend your reach when vacuuming under a vehicle or furniture. This just may eliminate an extension cord on one of my vacuums. Twist, pull, twist, and be a happy sucker! A couple days ago I tripped and sprained my right hand. Needed help with the first unlocking twist as it is SNUG! A vise did help later when I was in the shop. I like the customizability of the length because I won’t need its full length every time it’s used.

RIDGID 2 1/2 inch Telescopic Shop Vacuum Wand
I have been a fan of RIDGID products for years as they are
a very high quality company with products that have a Life
Time guarantee.
I have the RIDGID 16 gallon Wet/Dry vac that I absolutely love.
It has a great amount of vac power and I've used it for vacuuming
out my garage after projects to vacuuming up the leaves on my
artificial lawn.
The only thing that wasn't working for me on this vac was the length
of the two supplied wands. They are plenty long enough, depending
on how tall you are. I'm 6'1" and when using both wands to vac leaves
up, I find I am bent over a bit which gives me a sore back before that
project is done Then I came across this RIDGID extendable/collapsible
wand, which I can extend to the perfect length and vac my lawn while
standing perfectly straight up and complete the entire job without any
back pain. I absolutely love it, it's "exactly" what I was looking for!
When fully collapsed, the wand measures 28 inches in length. When
extended,the wand measures 48 Inches. This one wand, when extended,
measures 8 inches longer than two standard wands put together. This
wand is black in color, made of a thick PVC and has a orange locking ring
in the middle with the RIDGID name on it. It smoothly glides open/closed
with locking mechanisms on each end to hold it in place. Seriously, if you
know a person who has a RIDGID shop vac with 2 1/2" hose and the factory
supplied wands, this would make a really perfect gift. Or get it for yourself!!
You are going to love it. It comes in a nice box for wrapping. I give this locking
telescoping wand, and RIDGID, a 5 star rating as this is a well thought out and
very well manufactured product. KUDO's.

Used it to clean gutters, good for spots that are hard to reach with ladder or close to utility wires. My house is close to mature broad leaf trees, vacuum mode has limited use (wand clogs up quickly), blower mode is a bit messy and shop vac blower is not nearly as powerful as leaf blower plus wand reduces power. Wand is nice and light.
