Compatible hoses and wands are 2-1/2 in. in size, larger than both a golf ball and quarter.

Utilize with locking hose and wands to achieve an interlocked vacuum system; accessories will not separate from each other in use.

Twist off or push tab to unlock. Compatible wands and hoses will lock onto this accessory.

Be careful - the latches/handles snap off!
I purchased the 10-gallon stainless WD1060 vacuum. I was handing the vacuum down from an attic opening with my friend below. The vacuum had bacteria (Zoogloea) laden water inside as I have just sucked out an air conditioner drain line that was completely clogged. As I was lowering the vacuum down through the attic hatch, with my friend holding the vacuum from below, the plastic latch/ handles gave out and the drum crashed down onto the stepladder, tilted over, splashed the contents (which is fairly disgusting) all over my friend and then down onto the hallway carpet. Quite the disgusting mess and my friend drenched.... Looking at the design of the handles, it is VERY easy for the handles to pop off of the very small round plastic pins when there is some weight in the drum. The handles do not lock in on the pins (they slip on) and look like they are designed more for easy assembly at the factory than ensuring something like what happened to us doesn't ever happen. I probably had two gallons of water in the vacuum, so not that heavy, but not that light either. Very disappointing design. I modified the handles by drilling a pilot hole into the round pins and adding a washer and screw to lock in the latches. After adding the screws I filled the drum with water up to the vacuum hole and I could lift the vacuum by the handle securely. The latch/handle is OK being plastic, but the other parts should be metal. I have added pictures of how I added the screws. I used 3 drill bits to make the hole to make sure I didn't split the plastic.

It’s rare but annoying when the nozzle comes adrift during vacuuming so this range of locking accessories for Ridgid’s popular 2 ½ inch wet and dry shop vac’s is very useful to have. The locking mechanism itself is simple but strong and effective.
Made of high quality plastic the accessory attachments fit the existing range of Ridgid shop vac’s without the need for any modification of the original vacuum tubes and extensions. In fact, there is no reason why these locking accessories will not fit any brand of 2 ½ inch vacuums.

I received my 2-1/2 in. Locking Accessory Utility Nozzle for Wet/Dry Vacs today. I have tried it out and it works really well. It is nice to get in tight spots and you do not have to worry about the end falling off. My old Ridge wet dry vac. does not have the locking set up but the wand still fits the same and still works well. I wish my hole system was locking. About time that made these.
