Right tool for the job!!
This is a case of having the right tool for the job. It can be a real pain to access the retaining nuts way up in behind the sink basin. If you can reach them, you probably have no room to move a wrench. Oh... and did I mention it pitch dark up in behind there? No problem, you can use your third hand to hold the flashlight! :o) I have taken a picture below with the 2 yellow arrows showing these difficult nuts. This wrench has features to combat all of those problems and more. 1) Features and LED light to point directly at the area you are trying to reach. If you forget to turn it off, the light automatically times out and turns off to conserve battery. (picture included of LED light) 2) Wrench is adjustable from approximately 11" to 18". Making perfect for bathroom sinks or kitchen sinks. ( picture below shows red arrow pointing to adjustment ball and blue arrows pointing 3 additional length settings) 3) If more leverage is required, you can install a standard 3/8" ratchet or extension into the end of the wrench. ( Green arrows in the picture below point to this area) 4) The "clamp area" at the top of the wrench is spring loaded to make it easy clamp onto the retaining nut 5) Wrench includes a full liftetime warranty

UNREAL! Exceptional
Exceptional quality in every way and I mean every way! If there is something they missed on this tool, it would have to be a device that put's it away by itself when you are done. I had purchased a basin wrench at an earlier date of very good quality, and it does not hold a candle to this Ridgid tool. I just used my new Ridgid basin wrench on a very difficult to reach, thin mounting nut up against the bottom of the sink. I appreciate the LED light as you can never see what's going on up there, or have to struggle getting a light into position. The nut I was attempting to remove was only 1/8 inch in thickness and 1-1/4 inches in diameter. I was both surprised and delighted at how easy this tool made it to remove. I also like the removable and flex t-handle. Again, it is extremely strong, and you may swap it with any standard 3/8's drive. I put a ratchet not included) to the test with this basin wrench and it worked like a charm. Likewise, you could use the t-handle from the basin wrench on another project by itself, should the need arise. The expanding length is very easy to use and decisive. This is a tool very well manufactured. My hats off to Ridgid ... I had what I thought was a good basin wrench before. You hit this one out of the park so to speak! Thank you! I am not surprised you place your name in bolt print on your tools. I would too!

Great invention!
I consider myself a "handyman" whereas I do a lot of odd jobs for a lot of different reasons. I never liked when someone needed help with a sink faucet or other similar repair, the reason being that there is no room to work when a sink is installed in a countertop. The basin comes down and you end up with a few inches that you can barely get your hands into. This is usually the same problem you face when installing a new faucet. Most times, I would just take the sink out, or vanity top off the cabinet because it was easier to re-attach than fight with the space issue. Now, the thinking people at Ridgid have come up with a solution. In short this is a tool that fixes all of those problems, because you can fit it in the smaller spaces. There are a lot of really cool features that make this tool something every plumber or handyman should have. First off, it telescopes, allowing you to get behind tall basin sinks and in areas that are deeper than normal. It has three telescope settings. Maximum is about 18 inches, although, the bottom has a 3/8 ratchet adapter that you could place a socket extension in to make it any length you would like. Shortest setting is about 12 inches. Attaching the wrench end to the nut you are working on is easy, and as soon as it clamps down on it you can use plenty of force. I was able to break free the corrosion and place the new ones on with ease. With the handle at the bottom, you really get some mechanical advantage from the tool. To tighten a nut, you flip the top one way, and to loosen, flip it the other way. You’ll know pretty quick which way is which. The wrench end has a capacity of ½” – 1¼” The LED light is awesome too. It has two settings, although I always have used the bright setting. It lights up the work area well, eliminating the need to hold a light in one hand and mess with the tool in the other. Also, with the light there isn’t the need to have a helper hold the light while you work. The light will automatically turn off after a few minutes if you throw it in the bag forgetting to turn it off, and the battery is replaceable. I think that this tool is a life/time saver and I am excited to have it in my tool bag. No more will I shy away when someone needs help with a leaky faucet. If you have to do any repair work on plumbing, you might as well get this tool, because it will save you time and frustration. It’s a little spendy, but I see it well worth the initial cost. It is a well built tool that feels solid. All of the parts are steel except for the outer casing which is a hard plastic material.

The people who designed this knew what they were doing!
Having to replace a faucet is difficult. A basin wrench makes it easier. This new telescoping basin wrench from Ridgid is awesome for the task. The first time you use it you'll be impressed. Just picking it up and feeling how heavy it is you know it's a quality tool. The wrench grips well but still opens easy enough to slip it around the nut. The telescoping mechanism works with a push button that stops at holes along the handle. Even though the outer casing is plastic, inside the plastic is a metal tube that holds the metal wrench part. The LED light puts light exactly where you need it so you don't need to futz around with a work light in a tight space. The light will turn off on its own if you forget it. I know every tool is getting a work light attached to it these days which is nice for most tools, but on a basin wrench, it's a HUGE benefit. I thought the swiveling handle might make it difficult to get good leverage but it actually makes it easier to use. Especially if there are other obstacles in the way like supply valves, pipes or your head. If you still can't get the nut to budge, you can remove the sliding part of the basin wrench from the handle. That way you can use another wrench or a 3/8" square drive. The wrench can telescope from 10" to 17" and will work on 1/2" to 1-1/4" nuts. If you're not familiar with Ridgid plumbing tools, long before the Ridgid name was used on power tools, The Ridgid Tool Company has a reputation for making great plumbing hand tools since 1923. Both brands are subsidiaries of the same company now.

Great tool - but over rated
It is very nice with the light - but for some close vanities you are better with the original basin wrench
