Questions & Answers

Why can't I get the entire tile through saw? Halfway through it becomes very very hard to push the tile through

They are 12x24 marble tiles. At first it is smooth like butter but then I simply cannot push it through with ease. At one time I pushed through but it cracked at the very end and a chip came off. Please help!

Does this saw have the laser guide?

Asked by: Dnell
No, the fence is sturdy and last guides arent necessary with table saws as the blade touches whatever piece you cut.

Which way do you turn the nut to take the blade off? The book states toward you, this would change depending on where you are standing. Do you turn it clockwise or counter-clockwise to loosen the nut? A friend put it together so I did not see which way he put it on.

The aluminum table leaves permanent dark grey marks on white tile--wouldn't even come off with Bon Ami or toothpaste. When we cut the whole tile right side up, the tile breaks/chips at the end of the cut. Thus we used the known technique of making a small cut with the tile upside down before turning the tile right side up to finish the cut. This technique does indeed prevent the breaking/chipping of the tile, but when making the small cut with the finished side down, the aluminum table leaves indelible marks on the finished side of the tile. If anyone has found a remedy for this problem, please let us know, because in every other way the tool seems fine. We didn't want indelible aluminum marks all over our bathtub and shower so we regretfully returned it in favor of a poorer quality plastic table QEP tile saw. The fence clamps very well and moves smoothly so I assume you can get accurate cuts. It doesn't splash much water.

I purchased this saw for a small bathroom job using porcelain tiles thought it would be easier than using a slide cutter well I thought wrong the motor labors and causes vibration at the blade chipping the face and breaking the corner of almost every cut no matter how fast or slow you cut.

Wish I had bought a stand. Cleanup is a pain, needing a large area to use a hose and flush out the water container. The Ridgid comes at a good price and has a decent blade.

This Ridgid table top wet tile saw is manufactured to a high standard for dependability and ease of operation. I have used different brands and sizes of tile saws over the years and felt this table top model would fill the needs of any DIYer. It also fits the purpose for the contractor that has a repair that is a one day project and does not want to set up a large saw. The saw is extremely easy to handle. The table top has a work area of 15" x 21", with a rear support table attachment. The motor is below the top of the table so it is a clean work space. The height of saw is 7 3/4" at table. All of this makes the saw easy to store or transport. The weight is 25# which I greatly appreciate! Came packed very well in the box. No problems with assembly. I did not have to do any adjustments. Other features about this saw that many others do not have are: an on/off switch that can be locked, cord storage and wrench storage. The price of this saw with it's many nice features makes it a very good value!!

This saw is cheaply made and too expensive I purchased a Kobalt tile saw that was $70 cheaper and much better quality. Like I said the saw did not cut straight the motor and saw blade was mounted on an angle and the lid to the water reservoir broke all in the first day of use . I would not recommend this tile saw

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked exactly as advertised. Cutting 1” mosaic tile on mesh... Worked exactly as advertised. Cutting 1” mosaic tile on mesh To 2 1/2”. Saw instructional video on cutting small mosaic tile. The trick is to cut mesh side up. With fingers on edge of each tile, slowly move tile towards blade with downward pressure on tile. Do not force, let blade slowly cut tile.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No pump; the blade simply dips into the water reservoir... No pump; the blade simply dips into the water reservoir and this also makes it minimally messy & fewer parts. Work indoors without much mess. Read manual & set up fence which is crucial for straight cuts. Score one end first, then pass tile to avoid chipping. So far, did well on granite tiles.
