Q:Can you cut seeded glass with this blade?

Answer This Question
A: Dear Manager, We do not suggest cutting seeded glass with the 4" Glass Tile Blade. Seeded glass cannot be cut using the same methods and tools as you would use to cut regular glass; it will shatter. Should you have any further questions regarding this blade, or any others please feel free to give us a call at our RIDGID customer support number at (877) 224-2969 so that we can help.

Chip-free glass cutting
This blade did a nice job cutting small glass tile on a wet saw. Cuts were virtually chip free and only had to scrap a few tiles whose corners decided to chip off badly at the last second. The blade worked well enough to be able to cut 6" long tiles lengthwise where I needed them to be narrower.

Use this with the 7" wet tile sliding table saw also from Home Depot. The blade is expensive ...but it's the only one that doesn't appreciably chip the glass tiles when cutting them. Did the backsplash to cabinets space in our kitchen - about 40 sq. ft. of tile and I went through 3 of these. You know when to replace it once the cutting speed goes down, or your tiles start to crack when you try to cut them. I had MANY tiles to nibble, meaning to cut a slot out in the long side of the tile, around light switches and receptacle outlets. That was very time consuming, as it took patience to cut them and not split the tile under so much stress. Got better at it as I went along. The tiles do chip ever so slightly as you cut, and cutting slower helps minimize any chipping - so be patient. This blade works better than the one for ceramics, which chips glass badly, and porcelain somewhat. Use the right blade for the right material - don't skimp. Wear goggles, and be extra careful with cutting blades ... I try to be very safety conscious.

I used this blade to cut through a 1/2 inch 4x14 glass tiles for my backsplash wall! The blade did an incredible job through the whole project! I did all the cutting my by my self... I am a woman in my 60s and had never cut any kind of tile before. I would have not been able to do this project with a different brand blade! I know because I tried! The picture bellow demonstrates only a very small part of the the project accomplished using this blade.

It's ok
Cuts glass ok (was cutting 3x9 all glass subway tiles) - just cut it upside down and you will be fine since some chipping may occur, change water frequently since a lot ! glass mud stays in the water and after about 10 tiles you can tell it's starting to cut worse than in the beginning
Also remember to cut on one side for at least 1/2" or more then cut from the other side unless you want to have broken corners

Just finished a kitchen backsplash. The backsplash was all glass mosaic tile. I used this 7 inch blade on my M&K wet saw. Nice clean, straight, and chip free cuts. I used the 4 inch version on my angle grinder for some intricate cutting with the same results. I would recommend this blade.
