AnswersThe lid fits pretty tightly to the bins. The nails would have to be pretty small diameter to slip out of their bins, (assuming all bins are seated correctly when the lid comes down). Any larger parts will definitely stay put in their bins.
Can you buy the interior compartments separately? I would like more of the large ones.

AnswersYes the bins are removable. As far as buying additional ones I am not sure. I would check with your local store or go to the website ridgid.com, or call their customer service, 1-800-474-3443. You should have that information when you bought the item? If not look them up online. Good luck.

AnswersRW. This is a 10 compartment organizer. What you cant see in the catalog photo is there are 2 large compartments in the center which each have two dividers within. So in summary it is 10 compartments with the option to make it 14 with use of provided dividers.

If I could rate 4.5 stars, I would. The 1/2 star deduction is because I don't see the purpose of having removable compartments if there are not spares that can be purchased separately to swap out contents for individual component/content needs at the moment. I rather have more larger trays/compartments with adjustable walls.
With that being said, I love using this and the other Ridgid unit (pictured) to store my various rotary, grinding, and cut off parts. They are well constructed and the mechanisms that lock them together are much better than what is used on other companies mobile storage units. I only have had it for a couple of weeks so far and have not abused it much yet but I do not foresee it not being able to withstand any abuse I may give it. The walls seem much more stronger that what is used by several other companies so I doubt I have to worry about warpage or cracking.

Strong and robust design makes this “small parts organizer” the best option for bulk storage that also travels. Metal latches, stackable bins, competitively priced, and versatile. I havefoubd only one feature that I’d like to see improved,
The way they lock together is great but getting them to line up correctly always easy. I like the feel of system that settles into position without much possibility for misalignment. These boxes allow for a “pretty close” alignment and lacks confidence self registering system. But I still have 6 of them and 6 baskets and will be buying more as they continue to lock together the same way.
