Q:Are there testing specifications available? My HOA would like to see that the underlayment achieves an IIC of 55 or more for a "6-inch concrete slab with no ceiling assembly/no suspended ceiling below. Does this product do that?

I installed about 27 cases of engineered bamboo over seven rolls of Roberts Premium Super Felt underlayment. Some of the previous reviews had stated you need a good pair of scissors so I ordered the 10" Weiss scissors the same time I ordered the underlayment and they worked perfectly. This underlayment was very easy to work with. It rolled out easily and stayed right in place. The fold-over flap and adhesive strip work well together. I highly recommend the Roberts underlayment for this flooring. It smooths out the substantial sub-floor imperfections provides a cushioning and insulates and temperature and noise.

This product was lightweight and fairly easy to work with. Requires a good sharp pair of scissors for cutting and tape for joining seams for small corners and odd pieces. Be careful so you don't tear a hole in the plastic sheet side as this is very easily done.

The underlay is thick enough to provide a decent cushion effect for the floating floor. The 360 sq. ft. roll is more economical than the 100 sq. ft. roll and the wider roll makes it quicker to install for larger jobs. Product was well constructed and easy to install with the built in vapour barrier and adhesive strip to seal the adjoining sections.

Underlayment very easy to install
My wife and I used this underlayment when we installed engineered wood flooring in two bedrooms. It is extremely easy to use, but plan and think ahead - take care with sharp or heavy tools to avoid snagging the plastic vapor barrier, tread carefully on it, and make sure that you have pieces lined up before you stick the attached edging onto the adjacent sheet. I would definitely order this again. If you're unsure, a suggestion is to find the installation instructions online and read through them so that you will know what's involved before you purchase it. [Caution: We have never used any other similar product, so we're unable to compare.]

stayed flat no wrinkles
We purchased this underlayment for use under our new Home Legend engineered hardwood. This worked great as an underlayment as well as a bit of a sound muffler. This rolled out perfect, we used heavy duty scissors to cut. Purchasing in the large rolls save time and money since it was delivered right to our door. Even after rolling it out you could feel a warmth to the room. The other day there was a rain storm and our sump pump will go off in the basement. I said to my husband is the sump pump working. He started to go down stairs to check and it went off. The underlayment has made a nice sound muffler because prior to the new flooring we could always hear the sump pump. Just a nice added bonus.
