ROMABIO Classico Limewash is a slow-set, slaked-lime paint that is specially formulated to create unique white wash effects for Interior and Exterior brick, stone and other masonry surfaces. This Limewash paint is easily applied as a 1-coat process to a damp surface and is washed off with a garden hose or spray water bottle to create an antique lime wash finish equal to the look in historic Europe. Unlike German smear technique using mortar, this paint is breathable, high UV-resistant, and will continue to calcify and harden over the years and will not peel or chip off as it is designed for durability for the exterior.

Hi Linda, Our paints are formulated for use on absorbent, natural mineral surfaces. We don't recommend them for faux stone. Our MicroGrip Primer can be used as a base coat when painting on faux stone, but please note that this would mean your Classico Limewash would need to be painted for full coverage. I hope this helps!
Hi! Classico Limewash is not recommended for ceramic or tile. Unfortunately, Romabio does not offer a product suitable for it. We recommend looking into a product specifically made for this surface type. We hope this helps!
Sealing the fireplace isn't required. However, Mineral Shield can be used to reduce the chalking effect of Classico Limewash. If you want to completely eliminate chalking, add scuff-resistance and a washable surface, it should be sealed with our Decorative Topcoat Flat. We hope this helps!
It can! However, we recommend sealing it with our Decorative Topcoat Flat after painting to avoid any discoloration caused by soot staining
Distressing Classico Limewash is completely optional. It can be applied for full coverage, but please note that this product is made to age the more it's exposed to moisture (rainfall). If you're looking for long-lasting full coverage, Masonry Flat would be a better option.
Hi! Classico Limewash can be applied to interior brick as long as it's absorbent. If it's being applied to interior drywall, a coat of MicroGrip Primer is needed as a base coat to ensure the product can adhere. However, we recommend out Velatura Mineralwash for limewash looks on interior drywall.
If the brick tile is absorbent, yes. However, please note that Classico Limewash is not formulated for walkable surfaces. Because it doesn't have the scuff-resistance needed for these areas, it will wear quickly and require frequent touchups.
Hi! Classico Limewash can be tinted to light to medium-light colors, as dark as our Nube Gray - see https://www.homedepot.com/p/ROMABIO-1-qt-Nube-Gray-Limewash-Interior-Exterior-Paint-10114/303053854. For darker colors, you may consider Masonry Flat for color transformation, or Venetian Glaze for semi-transparent color shifting effects.
