Hi Jewel, I have tried for over a week to get a replacement for this defective Ryobi tool. I could not sign in via email because it said US is not a valid country. I could not text anyone because it said it wasn’t working. When I called and was finally able to reach a human they were unsure if this was a normal thing or not ( which obviously it is not) and had to get technical support to find out and get back to me. Needless to say they did not. If I wasn’t disabled I would go back to homedepot but that is not an option nor can I find anyone to do this for me. I would either like to find out how to fix this problem without breaking it or to be sent a replacement for this defective tool. I own quite a few Ryobi tools and this lack of customer service does not reflect well on this company.

I tried contacting Ryobi to ask about the scissors sticking out all the time. They said they would check in to this and get back to me but they never did. This is brand new.

Once the blades are open do they lock in place

The blades do not lock in place. It will fold itself closed if pressure is applied the wrong way.
