Can I regulate the pressure of the machine to wash cars? And if so, what pressure should I set it for and how?
Asked by: Roy
RYOBIOutdoors response is contradictory to the recommended pressure control accessories (RY31019). The accessory states that it must be a min of 2300PSI. This is 2000.

Will I be able to use 100ft. garden hose? Can I use a 50ft. extension cord ?

Asked by: bonbon
You cannot use a "normal" extension cord with this pressure washer. the motor quits working within five minutes and then you have to wait 30 minutes for it to reset. Good pressure washer except for this restriction!

2,000 PSI 1.2 GPM Electric Pressure Washer is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 4390.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid purchase I’m a review junkie before I buy anything. I read and compare. Read and compare. Read and compare. I knew I wanted an electric pressure washer just based on previous experiences with gas ones but wasn’t sure which way to go. I have several other Ryobi electric/battery tools so I started research there. Eventually settled in on the 2000psi one. It does what it’s supposed to do. There’s some things that I’d change but overall it’s a good one. Improvements that could be made: - soap dispenser tank rattles itself off when you move the PW. Make this a tighter fit or way to tighten it down - hose real: pretty big pain in the butt to be honest. Idea was spot on but delivery was weird. Like I said, this was worth the purchase to me. It runs the way it should and works really well for what I needed it for. The few things that I would change aren’t near enough to say I wouldn’t purchase again. I sure enough would. I've had this pressure washer for two years now, and each time I use it I am reminded of how much I dislike it. The overall build quality is cheap, with the wheels falling off constantly, despite being pinned in, the included hose is flimsy, and constantly kinks, and the soap reservoir constantly falls off. When using this product, expect complete loss of pressure for minutes at a time, despite having superb water pressure in your home. This is the number one pitfall, as you have to wait for the machine to catch up with itself. This should not be an issue, and is really annoying when you are trying to do a simple task such as clean your fountain. However, when it works, it works well and is able to handle most, if not all the jobs I throw at it. If neither of these concern you, then this product is for you. However I think I am going to get another brand's gas pressure washer to ensure I am satisfied.

There was one area of the walkway where I probably needed 3000 PSI. Everywhere else it worked fine. Does not damage wood as bad as my 3000 PSI did. It will also clean a dirt bike with less concern about damage. I had one outlet on the back of the house where the motor would not fully engage. Must have been a problem with the outlet. It worked on three other outlets. I was also running it with a 100 foot extension cord. I have converted all yard equipment to electric to stop gas fumes and driving to find non ethanol fuel. I bought the warranty because I move it from my fish camp to my main house and it is around saltwater. The registration with Home Depot was no problem. I tried registering with Ryobi and it was a real pain. Finally had to call in for help. I have used it four times and probably put 8 to 10 hours on it. I have used the Harbor Freight 1700 model before. This Ryobi unit is much heavier and seems better built. It does have more power however not a lot more. The only dislike is the pressure on the hand to turn it on. I have arthritis problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great unit that performs nearly to the level of a gas-powered machine I needed a replacement for an older gas-powered 2500psi pressure washer but didn't want to deal with the gas motor this time around. This unit is very stable and sprays at a pressure that nearly matches my previous unit. Great for washing siding, decks and other outdoor surfaces. One issue I had when first using the unit was the inability to get enough pressure out of the wand. It sounded and felt like the unit was sucking air. After some trial-and-error steps, I found out that the feeder hose from the pump to the soap dispenser wasn't far enough into the reservoir and it was sucking air into the pump with the water. Once I put the hose into the liquid it created a"fluid vacuum" and the unit performed as advertised. Just a heads-up that you must have the soap unit filled and engaged even if you want to rinse items. Otherwise I'd suggest putting a golf tee into the soap intake hose to block the air from getting sucked in. The instructions weren't much help on that front. Otherwise, it's a great unit.

The unit's poorly cast metal pump housing literally "crumbled" when I connected the hose to it after approximately 10 uses that were 5-20 minutes each. The warranty was not honored. I was a bit worried about going this cheap on a pressure washer, but I intended on it lasting for a single deck restoration project. It did finish the job, but now it is garbage. I recommend buying one unit higher in price to get the overall longer-lasting product. Home Depot told me my unit was ready to be picked up after the warranty work. I found upon getting home that the unit was never repaired, but I was charged the fee! I will not buy Ryobi again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Marginal Purchase - Expected More From A Ryobi Product Ryobi was the only electric in the store. Price point was ok. Assembly was reasonable except for the pressure hose leading to the pressure wand. - others do not and are made of much heavier gauge hose line. The reel mechanism is for high pressure line storage only and not to reel in the high pressure hose - no documentation declaring that fact. Wasted time trying to figure out the reel in configuration - finally called tech support and shared it right away. Must be a common mistake. Plenty of electrical connection cord. Cons: 1. Reel needs work for usage and is annoying when you have to reconnect everything with each use 2. No directions about the reel being exclusively for storage - add to assembly instructions- wasted assembling time 3. Presssure on box list 2,000 psi but appears to be no better than my 1,800 electric. 4. Jet nozzle is marginal for cleaning performance - I saved my other tips 5. Pressure line is not heavy gauge - flimsy - but most importantly - it kinks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You will love this pressure washer After tons of research I ended up purchased the Ryobi 2000 psi pressure washer after my electric Karcher model died. I wanted a gasoline model but understand the ethanol in our gasoline is causing all types of issues with fuel lines, rubber gaskets, carburetors, etc. I used it to pressure wash grease stains off my concrete driveway and it worked flawlessly. The steel frame is stable so the unit does not tip over like my old Karcher model. It's easy to roll around because of the large wheels and it features a nice steel wand, many competitors are plastic on the outside. My only suggestion to Ryobi is to eliminate the hose reel that comes with the unit. I removed mine and simply installed a Velcro strap on the handle to hold the high pressure hose. MUCH easier when using the machine and makes for a simple and effective way to hold the hose during storage. Trust me, this is the model you want if you are in the market for an electric pressure washer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job with no problems The unit was unit easy to assemble and operate. It has plenty of power for the job. Cleaning old bird droppings and paint off our brick patio was a breeze. Mildew and paint droppings came off the flagstone with ease and no damage to the soft stone underneath. Any more power and I'm afraid I could have damaged the brick or stone. One thing I was presently surprised about was the length of the power cord. It was long enough that we won't need extension cords at our home, but we have exterior plugs on all our patios. The other nice thing was how quiet the unit was. Also, the cart was good and stable and the nozzle storage sockets are a nice touch. The only minor complaint is the need to unspool the high pressure hose all the way before use. It seems like it wouldn't have been that much more expensive to have the take-up reel engineered to allow use while the hose was still on the reel. Overall, though we are very happy with this unit.
