Questions & Answers

Will I be able to use 100ft. garden hose? Can I use a 50ft. extension cord ?

Asked by: bonbon
14 gauge wire is normally used in your home for your recepticles and switches and is rated at 15 amps. When using an extension cord the primary concern is voltage drop which can cause over heating of motors and wire. Therefore always use a minimum 14 ga for short runs and short term use. 12 ga is better and will be suitable for 100 ft . Another concern is the GFI male plug that is normall on the end of the pressure washer. The question would be how much protection will you have on the extension cord to the source at the house. Is the recepticle you are using GFI protected in the house where you are plugging the extension cord into? If not , then you are not protected and the GFI on the machine is worthless. Water and electricity do not mix as we all know. Make sure your extension cord or GFI are not subject to getting wet at the connections.

do you have a book or manuel for machine
Asked by: shirl
Would have been much easier to do a simple Google Search, instead of taking the time to type a question on Home Depot's website and wait for answers that you hope are correct. You could have also gone directly to the manufacturer's website and search for the item (which you can do for most every brand name item). You would have had the user manual in less time than it took you to type the question, and wouldn't have needed other people to do it for you. If only people would actually use the lump of soft tissue in their heads and actually think or READ (in most cases, this is all that has to be done)!!

Can I regulate the pressure of the machine to wash cars? And if so, what pressure should I set it for and how?
Asked by: Roy
No, but ryobi sells a small round inline pressure adjuster approx 29.99. Mounts inbetween handle of gun and rod. I also recommend the 12" round head attachment for ground work it keeps patio and sidewalk work from soaking you.approx 24.99

2,000 PSI 1.2 GPM Electric Pressure Washer is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 3973.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great unit that performs nearly to the level of a gas-powered machine I needed a replacement for an older gas-powered 2500psi pressure washer but didn't want to deal with the gas motor this time around. This unit is very stable and sprays at a pressure that nearly matches my previous unit. Great for washing siding, decks and other outdoor surfaces. One issue I had when first using the unit was the inability to get enough pressure out of the wand. It sounded and felt like the unit was sucking air. After some trial-and-error steps, I found out that the feeder hose from the pump to the soap dispenser wasn't far enough into the reservoir and it was sucking air into the pump with the water. Once I put the hose into the liquid it created a"fluid vacuum" and the unit performed as advertised. Just a heads-up that you must have the soap unit filled and engaged even if you want to rinse items. Otherwise I'd suggest putting a golf tee into the soap intake hose to block the air from getting sucked in. The instructions weren't much help on that front. Otherwise, it's a great unit.

I have good pressure at my outdoor spigot but I continually get surges in pressure which results in inconsistent flow. Also after about 4 uses is started leaking like crazy right after the handle. Called support and they said to lube the O ring where the hose attaches, I did but knew that wasn't the cause from the large volume of water coming out of the connection and the wand body. I ended up taking the wand handle apart and saw water was spurting out from the plastic right above the brass connection in teh handle where it transitions from vertical to horizontal. It looks like that part has a seam which will potentially leak as the plastic is not a single piece, mine was squirting water right out of that seam.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Pressure Washer! I have been wanting a pressure washer for quite some time. I had a gas pressure washer that deteriorated a couple of years ago and I was ready for a replacement! Our house has vinyl siding and I needed a pressure wasure to clean it as well as the sidewalk and wooden fence, I looked at all the options both gas and electric and decided on this Ryobi model. It was a great choice! It was so easy to assemble right out of the box. Then, it is so simple to operate. It is everything that I hoped it would be and it has provided everything that I was looking for in a power washer. I have already cleaned the vinyl siding and the driveway and sidewalk using the soap dispenser and the medium pressure nozzle. The unit worked great! Took 5 minutes to clean up and put the easy to store power washer up! I highly recommend this power washer! Thank you Ryobi! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth the money Bought a couple months ago and have used it several times for various types of cleaning. First of all, if you have a gas pressure washer like I do,don’t think it’s going to be comparable to it. Remember these electrics have less than half the water volume to put out, even though the pressure is respectable. With that said, I am very happy with it because the truth of the matter is, it is perfect for most of the quick, smaller jobs we as home owners will use a pressure washer for. Just the fact alone that it only runs when you pull the trigger makes it worth having to me. And it’s not loud when it does run. My gas one will wake up the dead and of course runs if you’re using it or not. I only gave it 4 stars because of the useless hose reel. It’s more hassle than it’s worth trying to roll up the hose on it. I took mine off and threw it away and bolted a hanger bracket onto the top cross piece. Just roll it up by hand and hang it on the bracket, much quicker and easier. Also you can always keep it connected to the pump. Unscrew from the sprayer and wrap it up. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Marginal Purchase - Expected More From A Ryobi Product Ryobi was the only electric in the store. Price point was ok. Assembly was reasonable except for the pressure hose leading to the pressure wand. - others do not and are made of much heavier gauge hose line. The reel mechanism is for high pressure line storage only and not to reel in the high pressure hose - no documentation declaring that fact. Wasted time trying to figure out the reel in configuration - finally called tech support and shared it right away. Must be a common mistake. Plenty of electrical connection cord. Cons: 1. Reel needs work for usage and is annoying when you have to reconnect everything with each use 2. No directions about the reel being exclusively for storage - add to assembly instructions- wasted assembling time 3. Presssure on box list 2,000 psi but appears to be no better than my 1,800 electric. 4. Jet nozzle is marginal for cleaning performance - I saved my other tips 5. Pressure line is not heavy gauge - flimsy - but most importantly - it kinks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You will love this pressure washer After tons of research I ended up purchased the Ryobi 2000 psi pressure washer after my electric Karcher model died. I wanted a gasoline model but understand the ethanol in our gasoline is causing all types of issues with fuel lines, rubber gaskets, carburetors, etc. I used it to pressure wash grease stains off my concrete driveway and it worked flawlessly. The steel frame is stable so the unit does not tip over like my old Karcher model. It's easy to roll around because of the large wheels and it features a nice steel wand, many competitors are plastic on the outside. My only suggestion to Ryobi is to eliminate the hose reel that comes with the unit. I removed mine and simply installed a Velcro strap on the handle to hold the high pressure hose. MUCH easier when using the machine and makes for a simple and effective way to hold the hose during storage. Trust me, this is the model you want if you are in the market for an electric pressure washer.

Purchased this product in December of 2017 and it has never worked very well. This power washer only seems to hold pressure for about 30 seconds, then looses all pressure. I don't need to use very often so had just been dealing with it. Last week, I needed to seal some new concrete I had poured so I got it all set up just to find it would not hold pressure at all. I tried to take it back to home depot and experienced the worst customer service I have ever seen. They basically just offered to rent me a machine for the day (at my expense) and said "we do not fix electric power washers, you need to deal with Ryobi" The last thing I want to do is waste my time driving around with my power washer looking to have it repairs. Looks like I will be buying another brand and not dealing with Home Depot moving forward which is unfortunate because most of my power tools are Ryobi.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job with no problems The unit was unit easy to assemble and operate. It has plenty of power for the job. Cleaning old bird droppings and paint off our brick patio was a breeze. Mildew and paint droppings came off the flagstone with ease and no damage to the soft stone underneath. Any more power and I'm afraid I could have damaged the brick or stone. One thing I was presently surprised about was the length of the power cord. It was long enough that we won't need extension cords at our home, but we have exterior plugs on all our patios. The other nice thing was how quiet the unit was. Also, the cart was good and stable and the nozzle storage sockets are a nice touch. The only minor complaint is the need to unspool the high pressure hose all the way before use. It seems like it wouldn't have been that much more expensive to have the take-up reel engineered to allow use while the hose was still on the reel. Overall, though we are very happy with this unit.
