Can you make inside cuts with this on pencil tiles?
        ByOct 12, 2025
        1 Answer |
        Answer This Question

Hello, Denise - The WS722 can handle edge-based cuts (like trimming or corner fitting), but cannot perform true inside cuts on pencil tiles. You’d need a tile saw with plunge capability or a rotary tool for that kind of cut. If you need further support, then feel free to ask another question. You can also contact us by phone or text at 1.800.525.2579, Monday - Friday from 9 am to 5 pm (EST), or via email when you visit us at https://www.ryobitools.com/support/contact. Hello, John - This tile saw can rip cut material up to 20 inches; however, if you need to make diagonal cuts, the maximum diagonal cut is 13 inches. If you need further support, then feel free to ask another question. Maybe. You will need to secure the saw to a heavy table or other object since the tile you are cutting is larger than the saw. Any movement while you feed the tile through the saw will leave a bad edge. This is not a Ryobi issue, it is true for all saws.

This worked perfect for the 11/8” paver tiles for my patio. But just a reminder that you get what you pay for. You must be patient and stay on top of water and adjustments. Do yourself a favor and buy a good blade when you purchase. The blade included basically sucked for my use. After installing new Better Blade the job was completed in a day.

The product actually works well, not the top of the line, but unfortunately the delivery damaged some parts of the tile saw and have made a real inconvenience.

                  This saw is amazing!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this saw to do a custom herring bone backsplash for my wife. The original blade is not great, but with a simple upgrade to the Ridgid blade I was able to cut though and trim tiles with ease and precision. I can even take 1/2 of a blades width. This saw is amazing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the second one of these that I own as I lost the saw blade nuts on the first and needed a saw in a hurry. The saw has been a great easy to use for a diyer like myself. Used them to remodel two bathroom showers and floors.

This thing is awesome. The set up was slightly confusing, but I have zero issues with the tool. I did my kiddos bathroom in 3x8 tile and I had no issues. I would recommend.

                            Great beginner/budget friendly tile saw
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't have much experience with tile saws, and attempted to do my first tile job (kitchen backsplash) with out a tile saw. I finally caved and bought this tile saw as it was the most affordable, and wish I had sooner. I wouldn't even bother attempting with out a tile saw now, when you get can this one for this price. For a beginner/DIY, this saw is perfect! Maybe you don't get quite as precise cuts as the expensive tile saws, but my cuts are plenty nice for my needs. I get a very small amount of chipping with my tiles (3x12 ceramic), but very minimal. All my cuts will of course be grouted/caulked over, so does not bother me one bit! I've attached a couple of photos of my cut edges for reference. I seem to almost always get a small bit chipping off at the end of my cut, but nothing that matters to me. Very possible it could be user error anyhow.
