Great question, AARPaul. This string trimmer is designed to turn counterclockwise. I hope this helps and we appreciate your interest in RYOBI! -Keri
This model is expandable meaning that you can purchase other devices to replace the cutting head. The cheaper model wasn't "expandable" and I'm not sure, but I believe that the cheaper model did not have a brushless motor which I consider a real plus.
Yes, I was amazed.
Hi MW! Yes, this battery will work in the lawn mower. All Ryobi 40V batteries are compatible with Ryobi 40V tools. Thanks for the question!
Thank you for asking, DoDa. To obtain the longest possible battery life, we suggest removing the battery pack from the charger once it is fully charged and ready for use. For battery pack storage longer than 30 days, store the battery pack where the temperature is below 80°f and away from moisture, store battery packs in a 30%-50% charged condition, and every six months of storage, we recommend charging the battery pack as normal. Great question! I hope this helps. –Keri
You can buy it with or without battery. Better value to purchase with battery.
I have had it stuck once, but it was fixed when I took the head apart and put it back together.
You probably should not...I used .95 LINE on the cheaper model trimmer & worked fine for several uses, but my motor burned out while cutting some heavier brush. Now I wish I had stayed with the .80 line....I loved the trimmer while it lasted, looking to try this X model. It looks a bit more sturdy.
The instructions leave a lot to be desired. Use a set of pliers to turn the red retainer screw counter-clockwise. Once that's off, you should be able to see how it works.
While the chargers do stop charging when the battery is full i would still not leave it on the charger for months at a time.
