40V HP Brushless Whisper Series 21. in Walk Behind Self-Propelled All Wheel Drive Mower - (2) 6.0 Ah Batteries & Charger

I can’t say enough great things about this mower, it handles everything that I need for my lawn. The two included 6 Ah batteries can mow my entire front and back lawn in one charge. The AWD feature is great for my steep front lawn. It also can be turned off to save battery. It folds in half and sits upright in the corner of my garage taking very little space. This mower definitely is worth the price and the features make it a great top of the line model. Looking forward to more from Ryobi!

The two included 40V 6 Ah batteries can mow my entire front and back lawn in one charge, which is right around the stated estimate of 3/4 acre. The AWD feature is one of my favorite and is very noticeable and helpful on my very steep front lawn, it propels the mower with ease. It also can be turned off to save battery. Another favorite feature of mine is just how compact and light this mower is when stored. It folds in half and sits upright in the corner of my garage and takes up practically no space. Not having to worry about gas and carburetors when not in use during the winter is great as well. Overall I can’t recommend this mower enough for your average suburban lawn, and being able to use the batteries with my other 40V Ryobi lawn tools has been a great benefit as well. This mower definitely is worth the price and the features make it a great top of the line model. I am looking forward to see what else Ryobi can put out in the future!

Bought this mower around a month ago. Previously had a smaller (16") Ryobi 40v mower with a much smaller yard. Moved and have a larger yard, thou only approx 4000sq ft of lawn. The 16" was still working fine and we continued to use it in this yard for 6 years. But we wanted to pass it on to a relative who has a smaller yard, and wanted to try the larger mower in hopes it would speed up the job. The new mower is much larger and heavier, so if you have a lot of short runs and corners, the heavier self propelled units might not be great. It is fine in our yard, but the 16" was easier to maneuver. Overall with the larger cutting path and self propelling it's a little easier and quicker to cut the lawn. Battery power is not an issue. We can complete our yard with two lights still showing on the battery gauge on the first battery. Our 16" would take almost two batteries to complete the yard. Those are 2.4Ah and around 9 years old, so probably takes almost the same energy even with the self propelling. I would expect it to use a full (6.5Ah) battery, maybe into the second by the time it ages similarly. The 'Whisper' version is quiet, thou I have not tried the regular larger units. I find it approximately the same noise level as our 16" unit, which is fairly quiet. The dual blade does a good job of mulching and cuts the grass very fine. Better than our original single blade and other mowers we've used. We use almost exclusively mulch mowing. We are using this in RWD mode only. You can also set it for AWD, but our yard is fairly flat, so I don't see the need to engage another motor. The speed control seems reasonable. A slider sets your maximum speed and a lever controls how much of that maximum you use. Trying to use it at less than full lever setting is a little awkward, so we set the slider for the middle setting when cutting the perimeter, and then the maximum when cutting the center. The maximum speed is reasonably quick and don't think a higher speed would be required. Overall very happy with the operation/quality/features.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had two Ryobi push mowers and no complaints. That was until we purchased our new home and property with a backyard that has a 45 degree angle to it. This Ryobi self propelled was every bit amazing. I toyed with buying a gas powered but i didn’t want to spend money for gas and I have been very hyped on Ryobi electric products and even have other power tools by them. Thank you Ryobi for doing this for your customers. Maybe one day I will invest in the electric zero turn.

Unless you have a climate controlled place to store this, or live in a place that doesn't get hot or cold...DO NOT BUY THIS! It's ridiculous that they are able to sell it. Page #4 of the "Important Safety Instructions" says, plain as day, that you can't keep the batteries *or* mower in a place that gets colder than 50F or hotter than 100F.

I absolutely recommend this mower. All the features made mowing very easy. It may be a bit pricey, however with no gasoline, no oil changes, no spark plugs, no carburetor maintenance, no fuel filter, over time it will pay for itself. Only maintenance is charging the batteries, keeping it clean and sharping the blades as needed.

I love all my Ryobi One tools, however, this new 21" mower totally exceeds my expectations. It's definitely as powerful as my gas push mowers, with its switchable AWD the small slopes in my yard just disappear. Plus, it's so QUIET! The dual-blade in mulching mode leaves my lawn looking like a golf green and height adjustment is so easy. I appreciate being able to more easily switch between mulch and bagging mode with just a lever. Even in AWD I got great battery life for my 1/2 acre lawn.

Ryobi hit it out if the park with this awesome electric lawn mower! The ordering and delivery process was seamless. Zero damage at all which was a huge relief. The mechanics of the mower are incredible- very easy to use, ALOT of power which I was initially concerned about with electric. I have a half acre lot, so a bunch of grass to mow and this Ryobi handles it no problem!! The mulching works great and I love the AWD feature- I would highly recommend!!!
